I am so glad that my fave online select shop, Itzyuz carries Polatam skincare. Otherwise, I would have never known this Korean premium skincare brand founded by Park Tam Hee (an actress whom I did not know, either). It seems that Polatam is best known for its luxurious sheet masks, but it was the foaming cleanser and the toner that attracted me to try more from the brand. I additionally purchased the famous sheet mask set, Skin Recovery Capsule Serum, and Reset Facial oil. All are excellent!

I didn't shop much when I was in Korea but ended up picking up a few KBeauty stuff. These two from Espoir were something I had been interested in since I saw them quite frequently on my Instagram feed. Plus my mom was complaining about how my makeup style is so "alien" in Korea (*rolls eyes*) so it seemed a perfect excuse to buy some sheer lighter colors. I am not convinced that these are best suited for my personal coloring and preferred makeup styles but I have to say the quality is right up there.

A very friendly Instagrammer recently sent me a lovely care package from Korea. I was excited to find Holika Holika Piece Matching Blusher Clean Pink (PK01) (available on YesStyle) in the package because it was one of the few KBeauty items I really wanted to try! I am not exactly a fan of how most Korean roadshop brands formulate pressed powders but colors like this one is hard to spot in the western market. Plus I've heard the formula itself is actually great.

I had been curious about Romand eyeshadow quads forever but couldn't pull the trigger because the colors didn't seem to suit me very well. However, when I saw Dry Violet from the recent "Hanbok Edition", I knew it was time. By the way, Romand has collaborated with Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation and created this awesome collection (video). Everything in it is well thought of and quite beautiful, in my opinion.

This year, I continue to discover innovative skincare products from Korea, and Cell Forté probably is the most effective one that I have tried so far.
I did not know about the brand to be honest with you, but I was intrigued by the story of how the brand was founded (the founder was in search of natural yet effective skincare for her own mother's severely damaged skin after chemotherapy). I also liked the idea of utilizing high-performance ingredients such as medical grade EGF, 9 different Peptides, and brightening botanicals. I mean, I do trust the old-school anti-aging properties like AHA and Retinols but it has been such a relief taking a break from them.
I have been using Cell Forté skincare in the evening for about a month now and the results have been phenomenal!

Nowadays, there are so many KBeauty brands available that it's hard to keep up. Black Rouge is a new-to-me brand that offers a variety of affordable makeup. I heard their matte lip colors are rather excellent so I included these two in my last YesStyle order. Both Air Fit Velvet Tint and Rose Velvet Lipstick are priced under $10, and for the price, I think these are great quality.

Pyunkang Yul skincare was developed by the renowned Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic in Korea and "less is more" is definitely the brand's philosophy. Pyunkang Yul abandons ingredients that are merely added for texture and scent. The carefully chosen ingredients in Pyunkang Yul skincare are gentle and safe for skin. The idea is not correcting the skin but finding the optimal balance of moisture and oil balance for a healthy glowing complexion.
At this point in my life, I am more drawn into powerhouse skincare ingredients such as Vitamin C, Retinoid, Peptides, AHA, etc. And, my skin usually tolerates these with no issues and I find my current skincare regimen (Vitabrid C12, reviewed) works very well for me. I wasn't exactly looking for "gentle" skincare but a simple moisture serum that I could use during the short self facial massages that I have been into lately. I wanted something light but with enough slip and without any potential irritants. Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum seemed perfect and priced right as well so I purchased a bottle from iHerb a few months ago. It was surprisingly nice so I decided to explore the brand a bit more.

Romand Juicy Lasting Tint is awesome - long-lasting, relatively non-drying, pretty, and affordable. I have been getting a lot of use out of them lately but since I don't have any FOTD yet, I will just show you some swatches today. There are currently 13 shades available in the Juicy Lasting Tint line and only 5 of them seem to suit people with cool undertones. I picked up 3 of the cool-toned colors - SummerScent, Dragon Pink, and FigFig.

Vitabrid has to be the most effective and cost-efficient skincare line that I have tried so far. I first tried the Vitabrid Scalp Shampoo (recently reviewed here) and it was the rabbit hole. Soon I purchased Vitabrid's wonderful facial masks and pretty much everything they offer. It's been already 3 months since I started using the Vitabrid skincare almost exclusively, yet I still feel excited about them.
