Vitabrid C12 Skincare Review

Vitabrid C12 skincare reviews

Vitabrid has to be the most effective and cost-efficient skincare line that I have tried so far. I first tried the Vitabrid Scalp Shampoo (recently reviewed here) and it was the rabbit hole. Soon I purchased Vitabrid's wonderful facial masks and pretty much everything they offer. It's been already 3 months since I started using the Vitabrid skincare almost exclusively, yet I still feel excited about them.

Vitabrid C12 Daily-C Balancing Cleansing Balm ($48, Nordstrom)

Vitabrid Daily-C Balnacing Cleansing Balm review

This is the most recent addition to my routine. I just opened the jar a few days ago but I think it's amazing! It's a semi-transparent hard balm that melts away on the skin. It removes my waterproof sunscreen and makeup easily with a small dollop. I usually follow up with Daily-C Vitamin Balancing Gentle Foaming Cleanser (another fave in the household and reviewed here) and my skin feels clean and supple all ready for the next step. I initially thought it was just an oil-based makeup remover but soon found out it's so much more. The ingredients in this balm are excellent including Vitabrid CG (active & stabilized vitamin C), Madecassole/Centella Asiatica extract, Kahai oil, Papaya fruit extract, etc. When I first used it alone in the morning, it immediately reminded me of the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I mean, Oskia's luxurious pink gel from the pump bottle is still something but Vitabrid Cleansing Balm feels as soothing if not more and it rinses clean leaving the skin supple and hydrated. It's a major love and I will certainly repurchase.

Facial Boosting Water ($28, Nordstrom) & Face Brightening Powder ($68, Saks Fifth Avenue)

Vitabrid Face Brightening Powder & Facial Boosting Water reviews

Vitabrid C12 Facial Boosting Water is a treatment toner that contains peptides and hyaluronic acid. It feels so gentle and hydrating. It can be used on its own but is designed to be mixed with Vitabrid C 12 Face Brightening Powder. Indeed, they work seamlessly together and the powder melts in without feeling gritty. Facial Boosting Water feels a tiny bit more viscous when applied alone and more watery when mixed with the powder. I have no patience nor time for the popular 7-skin method but I do try to incorporate this wonderful sort of water multiple times a day. For example, I apply it a few times right after my morning wash before I apply the mixture with Face Brightening Powder.

Vitabrid C12 Face Brightening Powder is an active and stabilized form of Vitamin C and the pillar product of the entire brand. Because it is in powder form and meant to be mixed freshly each time of use, it is much better than other forms of vitamin c based skincare. I can tell it's quite potent because I started seeing the brightening effect from day one but I have to say this is the least irritating one of the kind. This tiny bottle seems to last forever since I've been using it twice a day for 3 months now but there is still more than a half left in the bottle.

Dual Drop Serum ($62, Nordstrom)

Vitabrid Dual Drop Serum review

If you want the anti-aging and face brightening effect in one bottle, Vitabrid C12 Dual Drop Serum would be a great choice for you. Technically speaking, you wouldn't need to use the serum on top of the Face Brightening Powder. I do it anyway because of the moisturizing properties in the serum. It's just a perfect fit in my morning routine plus why not layer the good stuff if it imposes no irritation on my skin unlike the other Vitamin C products out there? I have already stocked up on a few more bottles and will continue to use them. It smells faintly citrus and herbal and absorbs well leaving the skin slightly moisturized. You might need additional moisturizing steps if you have drier skin, but it's enough for me on most days.

Vitabrid C12 Eye & Face Cream ($39, Nordstrom)

Vitabrid Eye & Face Cream review

This is a medium weight gel-cream that feels intensely hydrating on the skin. I use it in my nighttime routine after applying the mixture of the Facial Boosting Water and the Face Brightening Powder. I love that it can be used around the eyes although I haven't used a separate eye cream in a long while. The convenient and practical tube is another thing to love. Vitabrid C12 Eye & Face Cream is rich in Vitabrid CG (Vitamin C), peptide complex, Hyaluronic Acid, and other anti-oxidants. On a lazy day, I just use the Facial Boosting Water and this cream and it is more than enough.

Dual Mask: Age-Defying & Firming | Brightening & Luminous (5-pack for $28, Saks Fifth Avenue)

Vitabrid Dual Mask reviews

Confession - I can't tell these masks apart. All I can say is that they just are so wonderful. Whether it's the Age-defying & Firming or the Brightening & Luminous, my skin feels amazingly hydrated and firmer while looking much brighter after using one. Now, I am that weird Korean person who doesn't like sheet masks and I still don't like the initial cold sensation and the waste they leave behind. BUT, I make an effort to periodically use these Vitabrid masks because they do so much good for my skin. They are worthwhile even at the full price. If you exfoliate your skin regularly and use one of these once or twice a week, you probably won't miss having a monthly facial.

Vitabrid was once sold at Barney's (which was a big deal then) but due to this luxury retailer's recent demise, now they are available on Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue as well as their website.

Thanks for reading this long post. Hope everyone is doing well.

    1. Thanks! I think the C12 powder is the easiest and most effective way to incorporate in your existing skincare routines. You don't even need to buy the Boosting Water if you choose not to because it's supposed to mix with any moisturizing type of toner. :)

  2. Oh I'm so glad to hear that the Vitabrid range has worked out so well for you Lena! Of course you know how much I love the brand and their products already ~_^ I'm excited to hear how much you like the cleansing balm and eye and face cream. Those are two products I have not tried yet but did pick up during their recent sale. I just used the Brightening and Luminous mask last night. I love how there's enough essence in there to DIY at least two more masks each time but I also love them just for the effects that you mention :D

    1. I can't wait to hear about your thoughts on Cleansing Balm and Eye & Face cream! And, I hope you like tham as much as I do. Now I spend more time home that it is a perfect timing to use these sheet masks more often. I do find the essence is plenty for another DIY and have tried it a few times. I also soak those Muji cotton pads with the access juice and put them on my neck in thin layers. :)

  3. I'm excited to read your review! A local retailer is offering a one day sale on the full set you reviewed! I've been really excited to try this brand, esp. the Vitamin c powder, but got a bad bottle. I'm totally going to order a few of these to my parent's place too so i can pick it up next time!

    1. Ah, that's how it happened. I am sorry to hear about the bad bottle. Vitabrid still runs a crazy sale (the serum is under $10 with the Refinery promotion) and I am stocking up on some of the favorite although I have backups. LOL
