NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow Madrid

May 12, 2020

Madrid is the most interesting color from NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow collection ($22, NARS) in my opinion. And, it's one of my favorite eyeshadow singles! I prefer a simple eye look when I wear brighter lips. This way, you can easily incorporate bright lip colors into the daily look without being too much. When I wear red, I usually go for Urban Decay Diamond Dog or MAC Satin Taupe. NARS Madrid works great with hot pink and berries.

(Sorry, this photo is rather dingy. This is one of those few that I forgot to take photos of and just dived in. You can tell it's well-loved, right?)

NARS Madrid is a dirty taupe with gold and violet shimmer. Having two different shimmers, it shifts color depending on the lighting and how much you apply. The finish is more metallic if applied heavy-handed but iridescent with a sheer wash of it. When the gold shimmer is more pronounced, Madrid appears a shimmery olive. Sometimes it is a greyed violet that twinkles. Just gorgeous either way.

Madrid is such a unique and beautiful color. I don't think I own anything like it. I wore Madrid in this post but next week I will show you another simple look that I recently put together.

Thanks for being here. What are some of your favorite single eyeshadows?

*The NARS eyeshadow was purchased by me. This post contains affiliate links.

  1. Madrid is such a beautiful colour! I'm a fan of NARS eyeshadows, I used to have one in the shade Lhasa (I think now discontinued) and it was so soft and buttery! x

    1. Isn't it something! And, I think we have similar tastes in beauty stuff. I LOVE Lhasa and still have it. I can't believe that it didn't make the new single eyeshadow collections because some of the old favorites are revamped. Lhasa is a complex beauty and perfect for cool-toned gals!

  2. What a beautiful colour and finish! Also Madrid is one of my favourite cities, so good name too ;)

    1. There seem to be other NARS eyeshadow colors with city or country names. I would love to visit Madrid some day. This whole stay-at-home situation makes me want to go see the world although I don't exactly enjoy traveling. ;)
