Chanel Fall 2026 Coco Mademoiselle Makeup Collection (aka Chanel's birthday collection) is here, and it is absolutely gorgeous! There is a new version of the Coco Mademoiselle fragrance - Crush Absolu as a part of this collection, but I will do a separate perfume review.
The makeup collection consists of a 9-pan eyeshadow palette, one limited edition Rouge Coco lipstick, and a new nail color. It's concise and on point, and it is also quite neutral and basic. Is this collection special? Oh, absolutely.
Chanel Les 9 Ombres, 587 The New Smoky ($132, Chanel)
I'd say this is the 9-pan Chanel eyeshadow palette we have been waiting for! The colors are on the lighter side to be a traditional smoky palette (hence "the new smoky"), but you can still create enough depth.
Overall neutral, but pinky purple tones are a bit stronger here.
The surprising shade is the far left in the middle row - it looks like a medium shade in the pan, but yields way more depth once applied.
It has a great mix of matte, satin, metallic, and shimmery topper. Useful and very sophisticated. I love it.
Chanel Rouge Coco 165 Crush ($54, Nordstrom)
The limited edition lipstick bullet with the tiny CC logos is too adorable!
Crush is essentially the same shade as the ongoing color, Flying Cloud. The difference is marginal, but Crush has a bit less pigment in the base and more slip, which is why it looks lighter in the arm swatch. On the lips, these two lip colors look very similar. I don't suppose you need both unless you are all about makeup science like me, or you just want that amazing LE design.
Chanel Le Vernis 469 Coco ($34, Macy's)
This is an opaque cream pink with a drop of lilac. The tone is just right, and you cannot go wrong with a classic posh shade like this.
Not the easiest formula to apply by nature since there is a lot of white in the base, but I was able to achieve an even finish with two coats.
I created 2 different looks:
The first look is cooler in tone, paired with deeper purply smoky eyes with lilac mauve lips (Crush).
The second eye look is slightly warmer and lighter, paired with a saturated classic red lip color (I am wearing Chanel 31 Le Rouge in Rouge Premiere).
The cheek shade is the same for both looks (Chanel Joues Contraste Intense in Rose Radiant), but I added Chanel Poudre Lumiere in White Opal all over to cool it down in the first look.
To me, this collection is absolutely special because of the storytelling and the energy it gives. It makes me feel something, and I need that from my makeup these days. Plus, the whole collection is so wearable and versatile! For that, I am enjoying every bit of it, including the new perfume.
