Dior seems to be all about glow these days. Starting with this new lipstick range, Dior Addict Glass Lipsticks, we now have Glassy Glow Highlighter Sticks (available at Sephora) and 4 new shades of glowy blush stick, and other stuff coming soon as well.
I have to say these new Glass Lipsticks are quite amazing. I would not call the formula entirely innovative, but it strikes all the right notes, plus it comes with fancy packaging, too!
Dior Addict Glass Lipstick ($48, available at Dior US)
Perfect for the "glass" lipstick concept, the lipstick case has a mirror-like reflection and is adorned with holographic Dior emblems. I appreciate the new design, but it is also a fingerprint magnet, so not as practical.
Dior Addict Écrin Lipstick Case ($42, available at Macy's)
Dior also introduced 3 additional Écrin cases, and I picked up the "Flowery Cannage" case. The material feels like leather, and it has detailed embroidery and intricate designs. I love this case! This also fits the regular Dior Addict Lipstick refills.
I initially thought the formula might be slippery (just like the regular Dior Addict Lipsticks), so I tried to pick lighter shades. To my surprise, the formula has a bit of a tacky feel, and it adheres to the lips quite well. Essentially, these are solid glosses, and they remind me of YSL Candy Glaze or even Hourglass Phantom lip glosses. The new Dior is slightly less melty and feels lighter on the lips. It has the same, slightly sweet scent found in Dior Addict Lipstick. The lipstick tube has a clicky mechanism, and you can turn the bullet back in.
I am happy with the 4 shades I chose. My favorite is Diorissime, which is a cool pinky red with shimmer. This one is slightly more pigmented as well. Not pictured, but I purchased the Very Dior shade later on because I really like the formula. Very Dior is a saturated berry shade and looks beautiful on the lips.
Rose Charm and Rose Sauvage are both very feminine and easy to wear. Sparkly Dice is great to layer over water-based tint, and it looks so flattering.
Overall, this is a great launch from Dior - beautiful color range, great formula, and eye-catching presentation. I would highly recommend trying them if you see colors that strike your fancy.
