Guerlain Meteorites Illuminating & Correcting Compact Powder (02 Light)

Guerlain Meteorites Compact review

I was bitten by a Guerlain bug and purchased more than a few items lately. None of them are new releases but classics that have achieved cult status. Guerlain Meteorites Illuminating & Correcting Compact Powder ($62, Nordstrom) had been on my wishlist for a long time and I am glad that I crossed it off the list this time. It is pretty amazing!

Guerlain Meteorites Compact 02 Light review

Many years ago, I loved and used up a Guerlain Pearl Powder Tin in the same shade (how I did it is still a mystery to me), but I have to say I like the compact version even more. The finish is more subtle but the compact is much more convenient to use (although someone said that nothing beats the sound of the pearls rolling inside of the tin). It blends out any harsh line from blush and bronzer applications and leaves my complexion super refined. I notice that my makeup stays true under the mask when I finish up with my Meteorites Compact, which is another brownie point!

Guerlain Meteorites Compact (01 Light) review

No swatches today, because the colors are barely visible on my arm (I did try), and trust me it is not really about the colors although these 4 shades supposedly work together for a flawless complexion.

I bought my compact not too long ago when Selfridges ran a great sale on Guerlain stuff. I can't say the U.S. price is unreasonable given Guerlain's high quality, but I have noticed that Guerlain is priced higher in the U.S. market than in Europe. If you have Selfridges + or easier access to Harrods, it would be a better option as they sell it for under $50 USD.

Thanks for being here! Have tried Guerlain Meteorites makeup? How do you like them?

  1. I've never tried Guerlain's Meteorites before but I do sometimes suffer from redness, especially from cold weather. It looks like a good product to use in place of a heavy foundation.

    1. Why didn't I think of that! Thanks for the idea. I think with some nice concealer, I can totally skip foundation and just apply the Meteorites compact! :)

  3. Ooh this looks very interesting! I had something similar a while back which worked really well at smoothing out my skin and evening skintone. Would love to give this a try!
