Look Book | Madrid & Maharajah

NARS Madrid & Giorgio Armani Maharajah look

Today, I have a very simple look featuring two of my favorite makeup items - NARS Madrid and Giorgio Armani Maharajah (I have recently reviewed and swatched them (here & here)). Together they make a great combination that yields maximum effect with very little effort. While requiring virtually no makeup technique, this look still packs a punch since Madrid has multi-faceted high shimmers, and Maharajah is saturated. When paired with a sheer base and minimal blush, it strikes just the right balance that can pass as a "daily look" for me.

Well, actually, I went for something a bit more dramatic for this post by adding a sheer black cream base under the NARS eyeshadow and some liquid glitters along the lower lash lines. My dress kind of called for it, and again, everything seems to be about balance these days.

These highly contrasting cool shades work very nicely for me but I can totally picture warm-toned folks rock the same concept opting for a peachy gold and a bright coral red, for example. Regardless of the skin tones, the key to this look is to choose high-contrasting point colors and do less on everything else.

  1. This is a really nice look Lena, definitely subtle enough for the day time but it's also a nice evening look :). Madrid works well on your skin tone, I generally prefer cooler toned eyeshadows on myself too. xo

    1. Thank you, Sarah! This is a busy work day look as well because Maharajah is so longlasting that I hardly have to touch up and it withstands a noodle soup lunch. :D
