Swatch Set | Hot Pink Lip Tints

Hot pink lip tint swatches

These days, I probably wear hot pink lippies 3-4 times a week. I happen to really like these bright colors and have many of them. My personal coloring is in between True Winter and Deep Winter so they look nice on me (or so I think...) Just like red lippies, they are all unique if you ask me. Finish and texture can make the same hue completely different as well.

I was organizing my lippies yet again and felt like swatching the hot pink lippies in my collection for fun. I started with everything then quickly realized that I have way too many that I needed to break them up. Today I will show you the hot pink lip colors in tint formulations. My hot pink lipsticks have to wait their turn.

I googled images for "hot pink" and found this. It seems to represent the color group pretty accurately.

Sorry, no lip swatches. I thought about it but these are all very pigmented and highly staining and swatching all these colors at once would have destroyed my lips. I mean, I had stains on my arm for a few days even after taking a shower.

(Top to bottom)
  • Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet "Maharajah" ($38, Sephora) - A classic. It's a pinky red that flashes blue. I love the depth and clarity of the color.
  • Romand Juicy Lasting Tint "Dragon Pink" ($10.90, YesStyle) - Apparently, this pretty color has been discontinued. In the Korean market where warm-toned lip colors are much preferred, cool shades like this are sacked very often. This color is quite close to GA Maharajah but bluer. The formulation is just excellent, especially for the price.
  • Beauty People Pure Vitamin Capsule Lip Tattoo "Strawberry" ($13.49, eBay) - This is my all-time favorite and I have replaced this fierce color twice already. The staying power is unbelievable and almost unnecessary.
  • LancĂ´me Matte Shaker "Pink Power" ($22, Nordstrom) - A very pretty hot pink but I like the formulation more than the color itself. It is very comfortable for something this powdery and long-lasting.
  • L'Oreal Rouge Signature Matte Colored Ink "I Represent" ($11.99, Ulta) - The formula feels indeed weightless and the color lasts for a very long time. It is quite drying so I need to gloss over it. Still a favorite.
  • Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick "Fraise Bonbon" ($18, Nordstrom) - This is such a beautiful color that I have endured the super drying formula for too long. I still haven't found an identical color with better formulation but I have decided to destash it this time. Goodbye, Fraise Bonbon.
  • L'Oreal Mega Gloss Matte "The Bigger The Better" (about $10 with shipping, eBay) - I think this is only available in the UK and I am not sure which US version has the same formula. Anyway, the packaging and the applicator are much better in this one (but, WHY). The color is a supersaturated hot pink that almost flashes neon and it's perfect for stage makeup. The formula is a soft matte that feels cushy and comfortable on the lips.

I actually meant to do a dedicated post on Jouer Fraise Bonbon but I guess there's no point now. Here are a few swatch photos that I took before. It pains me because I really really love the color but I can't stand the formulation.

  1. I LIVE for these shades! I love them both in nail polish AND lipsticks! They seem bright, but they wear quite comfortably for daily wear which I found surprising when I first decided to try wearing bright shades like this. I find hot pink easier to wear than red!

    1. These are totally brightening, aren't they? I also love that I can wear them without any other makeup on and I still look okay. They are the practical choices on a busy day when I don't have much time for makeup (but, I'd put on a full face for a while once the city reopens..haha). I agree that these hot pinks are easier to wear than reds. I like red lippies but prefer the ones with pink undertones.

    1. It IS a beautiful color and the formulation is superb. I'm sad that I can't buy it local that I have to go through eBay for this beauty. Will certainly repurchase, though! :)

    1. And, its applicator is just the same as the YSL lip tints! :)

  4. That sucks when the formula of a lip product isn't great, especially if you love the color. The color is beautiful so it's such a shame!

    1. I guess there is something special about super matte formulation combined such strong hues. Beside the discomfort, it doesn't fade subtly although it does last for many hours. I just hope I can find the same color in a better formulation!

  5. What a fun collection of pinks! I'm so envious of how hot pink shades wear so well on you. I love cool pinks but they are not flattering on me so I stick with more muted rosy or neutral tinged pinks. Well at least they do work better in my wardrobe than on my face so I can still wear them. The closest thing I've come to lipstick lately has been my Saint Jane CBD lip gloss ;p Hope all is well with you Lena <3

    1. I feel the same way about how great rosy nudes look on you, Rowena. They usually tend to wash me out but look very fresh when you wear them. When it comes to bright pinks and reds though, it's more of how we get used to ourselves wearing those colors. I am sure hot pinks and reds look great on you as well! :)
