Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick | 09 Midnight Berry, 10 Blooming Pink, 13 Bright Pink

Suqqu Extra Glow Lipstick review swatches

I am obsessed with Suqqu Extra Glow Lipsticks. I bought my first tube back in last summer and now I have three. When it comes to sheer glossy lipstick formulation, Suqqu might have just perfected it. It is so good that I would rather wear one of these than putting on some lip balm.

I heard that before Suqqu lipstick tubes were made more luxuriously but since I have no firsthand experience on them, these simple slender tubes still seem very nice to me. They are not too heavy nor bulky like some of the YSL lipsticks but feel slightly weighty and high-end in my hand. I have been carrying them in my makeup pouch but haven't noticed any visible scratches.

There is a good mix of cool and warm shades available in the lineup but of course, I bought pink and berry.

It is is a bit frustrating to see the swatch photos don't differ much because they do look completely different in context (I will prove it to you in my next LookBook post!). 10 Blooming Pink (Haebana) is a cool pink with a blue undertone. 13 Bright Pink (Saeazami) is a slightly warmer and brighter pink that looks more flattering on me than Blooming Pink, for some reason. 09 Midnight Berry (Yoikajitsu) is a muted dark berry that looks sophisticated but not aging. These are all shimmer-free and have a creamy finish. I want to get the ones with shimmer next time (101 Innocent Pink and 102 Innocent Rose seem to have shimmer).

13 Bright Pink (Saeazame) - I am wearing this in this post.

You can see Midnight Berry in action here.

There is no noticeable scent nor taste detected and at least the colors that I picked up are all decently pigmented. For me, it's remarkable that Suqqu Extra Glow Lipsticks keep my lips more moisturized than conventional lip balms. If you like glossy lipsticks (and the trend is slowly coming back), I would highly recommend checking them out soon, especially because Suqqu seems to be phasing out this wonderful line. Maybe I will have to go for the Moisture Rich Lipstick line next time? Yes, you can say I am upset.

Thanks for being here. Have you tried Suqqu lipsticks? What are some of your favorite glossy lipstick lines?

  1. Never bought a Suqqu lipstick (again because never seen this brand in real life) but these look like just my type: glossy! All 3 colours look great on you!

    1. Thank you, Sofia. I still want to get a couple more before these are gone. I have to order Suqqu sight unseen myself because I don't have any physical store nearby to visit. Even the online shopping on the brand sometimes annoys me since they release a small number of goodies and something is always out of stock right away. Having said that, I have been very satisfied with the stuff I got from the brand. The colors are sophisticared and refiend if not too adventurous. :)
