This look is about the blue-tinted contact lenses that I have been loving for some time. The whole series, LensMe Mochi (silicone hydrogel) is awesome for both design and comfort, and I have tried every color offered except for the pink. Unfortunately though, now the fun colors like the blue, pink, and green (wearing it in this look) are discontinued and this upset many fans including myself. The blue color is my favorite because of the true blue tint but it is very subtle by the unique halo design. It allows me to wear makeup with low-contrasting colors.
Here I am wearing the shimmery warm neutrals from Bobbi Brown Telluride eyeshadow palette (discontinued but her Sandy Nude palette is very similar with a compact packaging) with corresponding shimmery amber blush and warm pink lips. This is a combo that I usually avoid because it tends to make me look washed out but a little dose of blue keeps things a bit more interesting.

I also thought it would be helpful to compare Charlotte Tilbury Kissing Lipstick in Blushing Dream to a Revlon classic, Pink In The Afternoon. Blushing Dream was an exclusive shade for last year's Nordstrom anniversary sale and not available any longer. Revlon Pink In The Afternoon is a great affordable alternative. The warm pink color is nearly identical and this particular shade of Super Lustrous lipstick feels quite creamy just like the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. (I actually prefer the Revlon.)
Thanks for reading!
Hope you have a great week ahead.
The blue is subtle and very pretty on you Lena! Colored contacts seem like fun but I'm seriously wigged out by putting anything in my eyes even eye drops so I've never tried them. My mom said that my eyes looked like they were rimmed in blue when I was a baby ;p
ReplyDeleteHope your week is going well. Looking forward to our upcoming date ~_^
Thank you, Rowena! I totally understand how some of us don't like putting anything in the eyes (there was a "Friends" episode about it, I just recalled! ;p). I wish there were contacts that can mimic those beautiful babies' pupils. I haven't found anything like that, though.
DeleteLooking forward to our date tomorrow! :D
The blue is such a subtle, lovely blue! I would totally try it as well so it's a shame it is discontinued.
ReplyDeleteI really love the Bobbi Brown colors on you - they are classic with a glamorous overlay.
Oh thanks for the tip about the Revlon because that shade is so classic.
Thanks! I don't wear color contacts as often as I used to but the Mochi blue and green were so fun and easy to match with different makeup. I will miss them once I run out T,.T And, both BB palette and the Revlon lipstick are great neutral classics! I should call the CT lipstick a dupe of the Revlon in this case. ;p
DeleteOh those contacts are cool, very subtle and I love BB cosmetics

I agree, Allie! I am upset that the brand discontinue this model but hopefully, they will come out with something similiar. :)
DeleteThose contact lenses are interesting, and the subtle touches of blue looks lovely on you withe the softness of the photo. I really love Blushing Pink and would wear either of these colours actually. Have a lovely week! <3
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am still looking for a suitable alternative but haven't found any, yet. I think anyone should have a good blushed pink - it's so versatile and wearable. Revlon Superlustrous lipstick in this particular color is creamier than most, and I'd highly recommend. :)
DeleteThe circle lenses looks so dreamy on your eyes. I love it that subtle and wonderful effect.

Thank you! I totally agree - I miss the blue model a lot and hope LensMe brings it back! :)
DeleteThank you for the comparison between Revlon and Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure. Thank you for being here! :)
