Swatch, Review - Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Revlon brought out another great lippie line after the mega hit of Lip Butters.
This is called "Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain". I would say it is the evolved of Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm, which I suspect would be soon discontinued.

I snatched four of them from the fresh display taking advantage of the sale at that time, and I am reaching for them almost everyday lately. I might even say I like them better than my Lip Butters. ;O

from the Revlon site,
It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.

[My thoughts]
As some of you might know, I am into hybrid lippies like gloss stain and sheer lipsticks.
I love these balm stains for providing enough pigmentation with nice light finish.
It is actually perfect for summer! I mean who wants to wear sticky gloss or heavy lipsticks in this weather? ;)

Pros:
Affordable price (tarte, you have a serious competition for your LipSurgence here.)
Nice convenient packaging (They come in self-sharpening(?) retractable ends)
Good pigmentation overall
Non-drying & slightly glossy finish
Not sticky and feels light on lips
No strong scent or taste
Long lasting

Cons:
The packaging colors could be misleading.
They tend to turn darker in colors later on (as most stains do).
Not many interesting or original colors (I am being picky here, but I see Revlon recycled the popular colors yet again.)

I like to put these as lip base and top with a little bit of gloss or sheer lippies like L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm and it gives long lasting glossy finish I can mange with even on a very busy day.
I still love my tarte LipSurgence for their unique colors and more moisturizing softer consistency and I believe they are indeed two different products, but I can't deny the resemblance of the concept and packaging of these two and even more so about the huge price gap.

Overall, The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are excellent in both quality and affordability and  I highly recommend them. ;)

Thanks for reading!
