Revlon

I have an epic swatch post for you today. Remember back in the day, Revlon Lip Butters were like the revolution of drugstore lipsticks and everyone was obsessed with them? I haven't looked at Revlon makeup for a long while, but these Glass Shine Lipsticks certainly evoke similar feelings. I initially bought 3 shades but quickly ordered another 3 because I was so impressed with the formulation! These lipsticks look and feel high-end and I really think Revlon hit it out of the park this time.

The look is deceiving in this case, but Revlon did not lie about Ultra HD Lip Lacquer being "Lip Lacquer", because it ain't lip gloss. I can tell you right here that Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer is a super saturated liquid lip color. Or at least the color I got, Pink Ruby is.

Hope you're not bored by my consecutive lippy posts not to mention they are all about bright colors. But I have quite a few lippy drafts sitting on my dashboard at the moment. Plus I am resolute not to buy any more lip product until I publish all of them. I want a new lipstick. I had to do this.
I have briefly reviewed on the first two I bought - Barcelona Nights & LA Exclusive, and decided to pick up another one, India Intrigue. My opinions on Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains are unchanged. It may not be the smartest move for beauty blogging, but adding more colors makes sense to me as long as I find the formula satisfactory.

It has been a while since the last time I bought a nail polish. I have been just stash-shopping my old polishes lately.
I love Revlon classic polishes and they are quite a big part of my sizable nail polish collection. However, I disliked the previous Colorstay polishes since they all stained my nails and smelled like burnt rubber. So naturally I was a bit skeptical to try the new Gel Envy from the same line, but it turned out to be nothing short of amazing.
I chose Roulette Rush which is a bright red with blue undertones.

It seems the "chubby stick/crayon" trend in makeup is still going strong as I see almost every brand has one out by now. I myself have been paying attention to other types of hybrids like liquid lip colors or gloss stains.
This was one of those impulse buys that I forced myself into, because I couldn't possibly pass up the BOGO 50% sale (which happens every other week, btw).
I guess I was curious to see what the hype was about the (relatively) new Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm myself.

I have been sporting bright lip colors a lot lately, but I still feel most comfortable wearing sweet pink lips paired with dark smoky eyes.
Revlon ColorBusrt Lip Butter Strawberry Shortcake is one of those perfect pale pink for my light neutral complexion.
I am pretty much over Revlon Lip Butters and have not been reaching for them except for the Strawberry Shortcake, which makes me think it deserves a separate post.
You can find a collective swatch post on Revlon Lip Butters here.

Three lippie reviews in a row is against my blogging rules, but I really wanted to share my initial thoughts on these new Revlon Moisture Stains that I just got this afternoon.
This is not going to be a full review. A look post and more details will follow later on.

I don't have a strong preference towards drugstore blushes nor think of Revlon as a "blush brand".
However, I find myself reaching for my Revlon blushes very often even without thinking about it.
Many people seem to dismiss the range because it is not the most pigmented kind out there and the color selection looks less cheery than the rest, which is, well, all true.
I still have higher regards for them compared to other drugstore options and now even more so since Revlon has recently upgraded and simplified their blush collections.

To me, Revlon is more of a brand for foundation and lippies, but I have always liked their blushes as well for the subtle and silky formulations.
What I didn't like was the flimsy and unnecessarily bulky packagings not to mention the confusing product line-up.
So I was quite glad to see that Revlon has cleaned up their blush line recently.
Now Revlon simply offers three different kinds of blush in new packagings.
I picked up Revlon Cream Blush "Charmed", which is a new color introduced for this Spring 2014.
