YSL Valentine's Couture Mini Clutch Eyeshadow Quad, Sparkling Lust ($69, Nordstrom)
The eyeshadow formulas are pretty much consistent with the other YSL eye palettes we have seen over the years - buttery soft, pigmented, and easily blendable.
There is a beautiful matte pink shade that is perfect for blending or as a base. The deeper mauvy pink is a matte, in essence, although it has some sparse pink specs. The lilac pink shimmer is so gorgeous, and it defines the eye quad. The top Champagne glitter shade is my least favorite, as it is more loosely packed and harder to work with. Sparkling Lust lacks a depth shade I prefer to have in my eye palette, but it is so lovely that I appreciate it for what it is.
Since rose was Yves Saint Laurent's favorite color, the brand has deliberately given us many variations in the eye quads. I made 2 sets of comparison swatches for your reference.
I would say Golden Lust and Sparkling Lust have a similar composition. Golden Lust is indeed golden and warmer compared to Sparkling Lust, although it has a rosy gold undertone.
YSL Valentine's Candy Glow Tinted Butter Balm, Nude Lavallière ($43, Nordstrom)
Candy Glow Tinted Butter Balm is a new-to-me formula, and I quite enjoy it. Really easy to wear, and it stays on quite well for a balm. Nude Lavallière is one of my favorite shades - such an effortlessly chic, everyday pink.
And here is a makeup look I created using this collection. In this look, I am also wearing YSL powder blush in Nude Lavallière and Baby Doll Pink mixed together.
