Very honestly, I thought these new releases from Dior were a bit of a cash grab and only made a careful selection of the shade I didn't have. Mostly, I was curious about the formulas. Despite my skepticism, I have to say Dior did another great job on these. I am not head over heels but would love to add more shades when these go on sale.
Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Stick ($44, Sephora)
There are very fine micro glitters and a golden sheen in the Toffee shade I chose, but interestingly, the color and the finish are not as shimmery once applied and blended on the skin looking consistent with how the same shade in the powder format looks on the skin. It's pigmented and easy to blend. Toffee is a slightly warm beige nude on my skin. It smells exactly the same as the Rosy Glow Balm and the new Lip Glow Butter - slightly sweet and minty.
Dior Addict Lip Glow Butter ($42, Nordstrom)
I am not into a squeezy tube or a dangly charm but the packaging is cute and surely will be an attraction, especially to the younger crowd. It is, however, lightweight and not as luxurious for the price. Again, the formula is excellent. Cushiony, juicy, and comfortable. It easily creates a delicious glassy lip look with a couple swipes. It feels a tiny bit minty but not tingly at all. Toffee is a cool-leaning caramel nude with no shimmer.
Dior Backstage Rosy Glow Blush ($40, Dior)
The new packaging is a step up but there was nothing wrong with the previous one and this reformulation is very close to the previous version in terms of the ingredients.
Toffee is a warm-leaning neutral beige with a very subtle golden sheen. The new version seems more pigmented and creamier to the touch.
And here are the swatches of the new stuff in the Toffee shade:
I also blended out the stick and powder blushes using brushes. Here is how they look on the skin:
In this makeup look, I am wearing the stick blush and the lip butter. On the eyes, I am wearing Victoria Beckham Satin Kajal in Navy Noir blended with Charlotte Tilbury Jewel Pot in Walk Of No Shame. On my face, I am wearing Chanel Sublimage Serum Foundation in B10.
Overall, another solid launch from Dior with satisfying formulas. I am quite happy with my choices.
