Dior Summer Collection may have stolen the show, but Chanel really aced Les Beiges this year. I admit that I felt uninterested when I first saw the photos (and this is probably why we should all avoid those leaked photos), but guys, everything in this collection is way more gorgeous in person. The color story of Chanel Les Beiges "Golden Hour" Collection is meticulous in its own right, plus the formulas are amazing.
Chanel Les Beiges Natural Eyeshadow Palette, Golden ($75, Chanel)
Chanel Les Beiges Natural Gold Glow Powder, Éclat du Soir ($75, Nordstrom)
There are 2 options available in this format and I chose the lighter one with pink. This is a gorgeous duo. The pink part has enough pigment in the base that it works beautifully as a luminous blush. The golden part is rather sparkly with a sheer base. This shade looks lighter and cooler once applied to the skin, and it works very well as a topper or a highlighter. This baked gelée formula is a pleasure to use and the finish is so gorgeous!
Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Colour Stick, Refresh ($52, Macy's)
This is a blush stick, not Baume Essentielle although the packaging is identical. It is a lesser-known but existing product and there are 4 existing shades but this time, 2 new limited edition shades were added. The formula is so good! Very easy to blend and pretty on the skin, and it sets down beautifully without lifting the base makeup. Refresh is a fresh pink color with subtle shimmers.
Chanel Rouge Coco Flash, 266 Sun Kiss, 268 Late Sun ($50, Chanel)
Sun Kiss looks rather warm in the tube but on the lips, it is a bright cool pink with a hint of coral. Such a youthful and fun shade to wear in the summer, and it looks surprisingly beautiful with the warm eyeshadow colors. Late Sun is a sultry copper nude with shimmers and it looks more neutral when applied on the lips.
Chanel Le Vernis, 365 Solaire ($34, Nordstrom)
[First Makeup Look]
I used the shimmery orange eyeshadow as the main lid shade. On my cheeks, I used the blush stick and topped it with the golden highlighter part from the Glow Powder. The lip shade is Late Sun.
[Second Makeup Look]
I used the satin peach shade as the main shade for a softer effect and did not use the orange. To soften the look even further, I wore brown eyeliner and burgundy mascara. On the cheeks, I am wearing the pink part of the Glow Powder as a blush, and Sun Kiss on the lips.
Such a beautiful collection and a pleasant surprise to me. I don't usually gravitate toward warm makeup colors but for some reason, I am completely bedazzled by this collection.
Chanel Les Beiges "Golden Hour" Collection is now available for purchase at various online retailers. I have compiled 6 retailers (Chanel US, Nordstrom, Macy's, Bloomingdale's Saks Fifth Avenue, and Selfridges) and you can find them here:
