TOM FORD | Soleil de Feu Collection

Tom Ford has brought out a new fragrance, Soleil de Feu for Summer 2023 and of course, there is a corresponding makeup collection. I like this consistent product release structure Tom Ford seems to adhere to. The collection is rather simple consisting of 2 eye quads, 2 highlighters, and 2 lip balms. Everything in the collection is quite warm-toned but I picked up the 3 with rosier undertones.

Soleil de Feu Eye Color Quad | Tropical Dust ($90, Sephora)

Tropical Dusk is a beautiful neutral palette with dusky pink colors. The color composition and different finishes are ideal for easily creating various neutral eye looks.

The mattes are creamy and extremely easy to blend. The top left rosy bronze shade is especially creamy I suspect it is probably Tom Ford's creme formula. And I love the warm metallic brown.

The elements of the Tropical Dusk quad reminded me of the much-coveted Metal Lust quad, so I made a comparison. Different enough, and they certainly make good companion palettes. If you missed out on Metal Lust, definitely check out the new Tropical Dusk.

Soleil de Feu Glow Highlighter | Oasis ($95, Sephora)

The price tag is very heavy for sure but this highlighting powder is utterly beautiful. 

Oasis would make an amazing highlighter shade on medium and deep skin tones, but it is a light shimmery blush on my complexion. The glow is definitely noticeable but the finish is so refined that it works great as a blush without accentuating the skin textures.

I compared Oasis to my two other rose gold/peachy highlighters. Oasis is close to the Chanel Or Rose but it has less pigmented base. Dior Coral Cruise is lighter and peachier.

Soleil de Feu Spark Lip Balm | Sun Spark ($48.50, Selfridges)

This sparkly-looking lip balm was not received very well because the pretty sparkles are just overspray. The description does say it is "shimmering pearl overspray" but the promo photos are quite misleading cause the models' lips look sparkly. 

However, I was not disappointed cause I knew that it was just an overspray. I actually like this color because it is quite pigmented for lip balm and feels amazing on the lips. Plus I did not pay for the full price, $60 USD. It is a beautiful warm rose shade on me and the formula is so comfortable and long-wearing (for a lip balm anyway).

Overall, it is a beautiful cohesive makeup collection perfect for this summer. The quality is awesome, which is only expected from Tom Ford and the hefty price you pay for.
