Chanel Spring Summer 2022 La Pausa de Chanel

Chanel Spring Summer 2022 La Pausa de Chanel review swatches

Chanel is coming in hot this season (or at least showing better efforts than the Holiday collection). La Pausa de Chanel is one of the 3 new launches from Chanel this year and the bigger part of the makeup collection (there is also a smaller collection called "La Comète" and another big skincare/makeup launch, N°1 DE CHANEL. Of course, I will talk about them soon). I didn't expect much from La Pausa de Chanel collection but to my surprise, it is a very solid, wearable, and unique collection that is also inclusive. I am quite happy with my picks! Continue reading for some swatches and thoughts.

Les 4 Ombres 747 Méditearrenéen ($65, Chanel)

I can't say this eyeshadow quad is unique but it has a very reliable neutral color story that will suit many different people. The formulation is a baked gelée with great consistency. Really, a foolproof palette with an ideal amount of shimmers. The pigmentation level is about medium and it is very user-friendly.

I was happy to see the darkest shade - a shimmery olive green with an antique gold flare - appear deeper than the pan color. This gives enough depth and I can easily create a soft smokey eye look (you guys know I love my smokey eyes).

The colors did remind me of one of the Dior quints (Golden Snow from the Holiday 2020) and I was right. At least 2-3 shades are quite similar although the Chanel has a more luscious texture than the Dior.

Blush Lumière Brun Roussi ($70, Chanel)

These limited edition hybrid blush powders are my favorites from Chanel. I was quite worried that Brun Roussi would look too intense and unwearable, but it is actually a beautiful color that translates into a sophisticated red blush. The formulation is fantastic with great flexibility. The finish is subtly luminous. It is a standout from the collection, in my opinion.

Rouge Coco Baum ($42, Chanel)

Chanel has a new lip formulation now - Rouge Coco Baum. These come in pretty white & gold packaging and the lipstick tube is the same as Rouge Coco Flash and Rouge Coco Bloom. I think the price is a bit ridiculous for a tinted lip balm but it is a good hydrating formula with a decent level of pigmentation (maybe we should not assume sheer stuff should be more affordable...). I don't think they are remarkable but I do like how they feel on my lips and the colors I chose. At least, I like them better than Rouge Coco Flash which in my opinion feels too slippery on the lips. Passion Pink is a cool-leaning dark pink and Fall For Me is a muted red with a hint of brown.

Le Vernis 915 Riviera ($30, Chanel)

I also picked up one nail polish and I am in love! I was actually looking for a light yellow creme shade and Riviera is just perfect. I would describe it as a creamy canary or a lemon drop. For a pastel with lots of white in the base, the application isn't half bad. I did apply a really good base coat and Chanel Le Gel Coat, but I can get away with one generous coat with this one (I am also not bad with painting my own nails).

Lastly, here is an overall look created with La Pausa de Chanel collection:
