NEW Dior Backstage Eye Palette 006 Bronze Neutrals

Dior has added more new makeups last week and this time it's two new Backstage Eye Palettes. Now we have Plum Neutrals and Bronze Neutrals in the range and these are supposedly limited editions. I usually gravitate towards cool-toned palettes but since I already have the Cool Neutrals palette (this is basically all I need for muted cool smokey eyes with a hint of purple) and Plum Neutrals palette looks more pink than plum, I chose Bronze Neutrals ($49, Dior).

The color story is gorgeous and the overall tone is actually not too warm. Except for the accent gold shade with an intense metallic finish and the few warm shimmery colors, everything is quite neutral. The darkest shades even lean slightly cool. After all, the whole idea of Backstage Eye Palette is about super wearable "neutral" colors with subtle nuance. And Bronze Neutrals palette certainly serves the concept.

As always, I am not a big fan of a cream product housed with powders but the eyeshadow primer is just fine. It feels like a concealer and provides a nice clean base. I wouldn't mind having another eyeshadow color is all I am saying.

The quality of the eyeshadows is really awesome. A couple of shades feel really buttery and rich. The shimmery shades are packed with just the right amount of pigment and apply and stay on beautifully. The darkest two shades are standout, in my opinion - they are smooth and creamy and dark enough to be used as eyeliners.

I have created a soft glam makeup look using this palette:

(I actually used 7 shades out of the palette and the colors blend out so easily that it doesn't look muddy or too much. Gotta love that.)

Bottom line excellent eyeshadow palette that is perfect for the fall and the upcoming holiday (or year-round really). The colors are cohesive and very user-friendly. You can easily create more than a few looks out of this palette. I also appreciate the compact size of the palette. If I am traveling, I will pack this one and my Cool Neutrals and be set.
