Jill Stuart Makeup Haul

Jill Stuart makeup swatches reviews

I was always interested in Jill Stuart Beauty but it took years for me to finally experience them. Before the brand made its formal debut in the U.S. market, the markups of the overseas options were kind of ridiculous. I love beautiful packaging but I find Jill Stuart's is a little over the top and maybe too "princess-like" to my likings. Finally enabled by lingering curiosity and a discount code, I made my first purchase not too long ago. Spoiler - I am quite impressed with the overall quality!

Even the boxes are pretty with many details.

I purchased a blush, two lipsticks, and a liquid eyeshadow.

Jill Stuart Lip Blossom 50 swatch
First up is Lip Blossom in Dazzling Poinsettia (50). It is a bright hot pink with a visible shimmer and a glossy finish.

The lipstick tube comes with an embellished flip-top with a tiny mirror inside. I personally could do without it but I can't deny that Jill Stuart went above and beyond with this.

Again, such details!

Jill Stuart Rouge Tint-In-Dream 01 I'll be swatch
Next, we have Rouge Tint-In-Dream in I'll be (01). The tube is simple compared to Lip Blossom but still gorgeous. I actually prefer this tube. The color is an elegant red with some purple undertones. It is a semi-glossy lipstick that leaves natural tints behind.

Swatches:

Princess Liquid Eyeshadow in Fluffy Blanket (03) a dusty lilac with a pale golden sheen. The formula is excellent being light and easy to blend. The color is sheer but lasts well.
The blush is the item with which I am most impressed! First of all, the color combination is unique and gorgeous. I own more than a few hot pink blushes like this one but Jill Stuart Blend Blush Blossom Lavender Pink (010) is the easiest to apply by far. The light lavender highlighter is so pretty. I didn't know that a retractable brush comes with a blush. While I don't mind having this one, I wouldn't use it to apply the blush because it feels quite dense. I'd put it in my pouch and use it with a pressed powder, though.

I knew Kose manufactures Jill Stuart products so I thought the quality would be nice but it actually surpassed my expectation. For example, Lip Blossom reminds me of Chanel Rouge Coco Flash but I have to say Lip Blossom feels and wears better on the lips not to mention priced much more reasonably ($40 vs $24). The blush has one of the best formulations in my opinion.

I have put together a simple feminine makeup look mainly using the Jill Stuart makeup that I purchased:

(By the way, I retired my 8-year-old softbox and purchased an LED ring light ($79.95 on Amazon). I think I really like it! For one thing, it shows makeup colors better while allowing me to take bright photos.)

Makeup products used for this look:

I have to say I still like Paul & Joe or Anna Sui's presentations better, but I am very satisfied with my purchase and certainly want to add more blushes and lip colors from Jill Stuart. I bought mine from Jill Stuart Beauty website but they are available on Beautylish as well.

Thanks for being here. Have you tried Jill Stuart makeup? What do you think of them?
