Chanel Spring-Summer 2021 Collection | Les Fleurs de Chanel

Chanel Spring Summer 2021 Collection Les Fleurs de Chanel review swatches

It's too soon to tell but so far, Chanel's Les Fleurs de Chanel collection is the only one that I liked enough to open my wallet. I am still waiting for Bouquet Ambré quad that I ended up ordering from a HK site to arrive but I will show you what I picked up from this collection so far.

Chanel Fleurs de Printemps Blush and Highlighter Duo ($70, Chanel) is the star piece of the collection. When I first saw the promo image of this, I was ready to dismiss it thinking it is "too warm" for me. However, having worn this duo myself, I actually think this might please just about anyone.

It is probably the most well-balanced coral that I have ever seen. It is warm and soft but at the same time, it is bright and has this great clarity to the colors. I was pleasantly surprised to see how flattering it looks on my neutral to cool complexion.

The texture of the blush is rather beautiful. It is similar to the blush powder from the holiday collection - a harder and smoother (almost baked) texture that allows a great control over color intensity. I just love it.

Chanel Le Vernis Anthurium swatch

I picked up Anthurium ($28, Neiman Marcus) out of the three Le Vernis shades in the collection. I can't say Anthurium (Laceleaf) is my favorite flower but the nail polish does capture the unique beauty of it.

I thought it might be another cool-toned red that is close to Shantung (discontinued) but not at all. Anthurium is undoubtedly a cool toned red but has this interesting plumy brown undertone. Such a unique and sophisticated red!

The finish is more opaque that I only need a single coat to cover seamlessly.

Next up is Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme in Pivoine Noire ($40, Bergdorf Goodman).

Just like the blush duo and the nail polish that I chose from the collection, this lipstick shade also has very interesting multi-undertones. It isn't just another "cool-toned" red! I see some deep coral and purple dropped in a saturated blue red base, which makes Pivoine Noire such a sexy and enticing red.

Here we have Rouge Allure Laque Dark Blossom ($40, Neiman Marcus) and Ombre Premier Laque Vastness ($36, Neiman Marcus). I am not as much in love with these two as I am with other picks from the collection.

Ombre Premiere Laque Vastness is one of the repromoted items from last year's collection. I have featured it in my New Year's Day look post. As I have mentioned, the color is so gorgeous but the formula is quite difficult to work with. I am still trying to make it work because I love the shade.

There are two Rouge Allure Laque shades included in this collection. Invincible ($40, Chanel) is a bright red (repromote, reviewed) and Dark Blossom is the new shade. It is rather an unusual choice because the color is quite dark and moody. It is a beautiful rosy plum with fine shimmers but unfortunately, it's not the best color on my complexion. I was hoping for a sophisticated dried rose but it appears more of a 90s shimmery brown on me. The color is buildable as you can see in the lip swatches below:

That's it for now! Quite unexpectedly, I am smitten by these mostly warm coral colors. I will post a few more looks later on.

Thanks for checking out this picture heavy post! What do you think of this makeup collection?
