Zoya Skylar

Skylar is another beautiful creation from Zoya. It is a dusty medium steel blue with visible gold and silver specs. Just perfect for this time of the year.

Although the bottle color looks soft and airy, the base is actually quite pigmented (intensity 5 out of 5 according to Zoya). It might be just me but I don't like layering Skylar because it looks more teal than greyed blue if I apply more than 1 coat. With 2 coats it looks rich and still gorgeous but it just loses the magic, in my opinion.

Luckily, the formula is easy to handle and goes on evenly so you can get away with generous one coat and get that dreamy color. I started with a milky color-correcting base coat and it certainly helped the application. Zoya Skylar is still in production and available on Zoya and Amazon.

Happy Monday to you all! I have been on a blue nail polish kick lately. What are you wearing on your tips this week?

  1. Skylar is really pretty, I'm a massive fan of greyish blues and would lean towards them over brighter blues as I find they suit my complexion more.

I've actually been wearing Zoya Brigitte, but I always chip my nails within a day or so!

    1. I am having lots of fun with my old nail polishes lately. I had worn only red, nude, and vampy shades for at least a full year before the lockdown. I'm not buying any new nail polishes and frankly I don't feel that I need to. I have some gorgeous summer shades from the old essie resort collection and will show thme here soon.

I am sure you wear some base coat. I hear Zoya nail polishes work best when used with their base coat and top coat. I wonder if that's true. For me, the Deborah Lippmann All About That Base & Essie Here To Stay base coats work well.
