Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow 907 Cuivre Lamé

Back in the fall of 2018, Chanel brought out a handful of new Ombre Première eyeshadow singles with metallic shimmer. They were meant to be limited editions and labled "Exclusive Creation", but still are available on Chanel website and other retailers.

My choice, Cuivre Lamé (907) was an absolute standout and I knew that it would be a great standalone eyeshadow that pairs well with dramatic lip colors (and, this thought led me to add the No.5 lipstick in the cart as well).

Unlike the ordinary Ombre Première eyeshadows, these LEs are quite special with the embossed design that looks like a lion's head.

Cuivre Lamé is a high shmmer copper (as the name suggests). I have to say this is one of the most beautiful shades that I've encountered in a long while. The warmth is just about right that it would flatter all skin tones. The shimmer is pronounced but is still very grownup. The texture and the color payoff are also superb. It goes on richly but you can easily control the intensity and create different finishes.

I might as well show you the No.5 lipstick that I bought together. There was no surprise because Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet is one of my favorite formulas and No.5 is a saturated red with slight blue undertones, which is my kind of red. Oh, and it comes in the red tube.

Here, I put a very simple face together - with a clean matte base (Too Faced Born This Way foundation in Swan), Chanel Cuivre Lamé all over the lids, Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in No.5, and Chanel Tweed Effect blush.

Paired with red lips, Cuivre Lamé certainly creates a dramatic statement with minimal efforts. Nowadays I find this holiday appropriate color also works great for a sunkissed look if worn with glossy nude lips and bronzers.

Thanks for being here. Hope everyone is having a great summer!

    1. Thank you, Rowena! It took me years to get used to looking at myself wearing bright lips. LOL. Now I wear reds for convenience as I can wear less makeup in overall.

I hope we can hang out again soon. Have a great weekend! <3

    1. Thanks a lot! I find neutral/cool reds easiest to wear but they could look too serious sometimes. I'm trying to enjoy warmer reds nowadays. ;)

    1. Thank you, Madison! I've been wearing clear red stain on my lips a lot this summer. On the other hand, I haven't worn much eyeshadows. Red lips can be fun and such a timesaver! ;)
