Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy

Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant Review

I have been meaning to write about this for a long while. If I am to name a single item that has been most helpful for my skin during the past 6 months, it would be Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy. I have been religiously using this every other night, but not exactly for blemishes but rather as an anti-aging treatment before a moisturizing step. I just finished a 2 oz bottle and ordered another one.

Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy is basically an acid-based exfoliating solution with 8% of AHA and BHA. A powerful stuff, but it is the least irritating treatment that I've experienced especially considering the potency of it. If you're used to acids like me, you can go ahead and apply this all over your face and neck, although Ecco Bella warns you clearly that you should avoid the eye area and eyelids. If you're just getting into an acid regimen, start using it 2-3 times a week and observe how your skin reacts. My guess is that you will do just fine.

This treatment went through several reformulations (at one point, the liquid was as dark as coffee), and the current version is yellow juice with some viscosity. The glass bottle isn't all that convenient because it doesn't come with a pump. It doesn't have a head cap either so it is not easy to pour just the right amount for each use. I kind of like the frosted glass exterior and have learned to work with the bottle, but I may be feeling more easygoing about it because I just love what it does for my skin.

Honestly, I do not know how effective Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy is for blemishes and breakouts. I have not really used it as a spot treatment. I usually apply a generous amount all over my face and neck even when I am pestered by a few hormonal breakouts. It seems effective for those, but I've also read a few reviews that the solution isn't all that for cystic acnes.

Now, for an exfoliant and anti-aging treatment, Ecco Bella Leave-On Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy is SUPERB. I started feeling the difference from the next morning. No joke. It is slightly sticky but runny enough to spread easily and even mildly moisturizing. Currently, I am rotating this with a retinol serum, but this could be a standalone anti-aging treatment for me because it contains many different antioxidants and vitaminCells that are gentle on skin. There are countless acid-based exfoliants in the market but to me, Ecco Bella stands out because of its gentleness. It keeps my complexion smooth and hydrated but I never feel that my skin is more sensitive because of it.

I always order mine from iHerb.com. (Actually, I've been ordering lots of stuff from iHerb including cat treats and dish soap lately.) The price for Ecco Bella Leave-On Invisible Exfoliant & Blemish Remedy is about $10 cheaper than from the Ecco Bella website and iHerb ships free worldwide with a low minimum. (I've been sending probiotics to my parents in Korea and they usually receive packages in 7-10 days.) I think iHerb has tweaked their referral system a bit, so you can use a certain code as many times as you want and get 5% off every time. I'd like it if you use mine (LEN2122) so I can try more of lesser known products and talk to you about it. Not everything was a big hit like the Ecco Bella yellow juice for me, though. (I will do an "iHerb hits and misses" post in the near future.)

Regardless the retail source of your choice, I'd highly recommend Ecco Bella exfoliant (see, I'm tired of typing the whole name by now) to anyone who wants to include a multitasking solution in his/her skincare routines.

Thanks for reading this text-heavy post! What is the single most effective skincare item you have tried lately?

  1. This product sounds lovely and even better that it's made a difference on your skin since you've been using it. The price is certainly quite reasonable as well. I haven't heard of iHerb but they seem to carry a nice range of products. Thanks for the introduction Lena! I will definitely use your referral code if I place an order :) The most effective skincare item I've used lately has to be the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial. I feel like it's really changed the texture of my face. Hope you're enjoying the long weekend my friend! Happy 4th of July ^_^

    1. Happy 4th of July, Rowena! :D Thanks for checking out this post. I love talking about skincare stuff but end up doing less posts on the subject. ;p I will definitely check out the Drunk Elephant Baby Facial (what a whimsical name! I like that). Ever since drugstore.com closed down, I've been shopping from target online and iHerb mostly. The price difference is one thing (you know how expensive it could get when we buy stuff locally, which is sad), but I think getter reward for shopping is a big perk (and mostly no tax from iHerb). :)

  2. This sounds like a phenomenal AHA & BHA product! I'd have to work my way up, even as a spot treatment I've been burned by a lower % of BHA. Will def use your referral for iHerb, there are so many goodies I've always wanted from this site, esp more obscure Australian and NZ products.
My single most effective item lately is Manyo Factory Overnight Miracle Pack. Have been super lazy at night and still wake up with some nice plump skin with just that one item!

    1. Thanks, Mimi! <3 I don't do very well with BHA myself but I guess the Ecco Bella has more AHA than BHA because I have been doing very well. If you physically exfoliate as well, you might still feel tingly sensation, but it is nothing compared to Denise Gross Glycolic Acid or MaMa lotion (a terrible stuff, btw). Hope this one agrees with you. iHerb has a limited selection of Kbeauty, too. I've been buying a good number of weird stuff like earplugs and dish sponges from the site. LOL

  4. I've never heard of iherb but they sound like something I should look into. I've been wanting to change up my routine, starting with a cleanser. I just tried that Eve Lom that everyone raves about. Man it is good but the smell, urgh, if it wasn't for that smell. I'm still contemplated if I should...

    1. I learned about iHerb from a friend in Korea. The site is very popular and I think it is because of the reasonable price and free overseas shipping. I love that I can find so many different niche products and try them without having to spend too much. It's like a fun playground in a way. ;p
Eve Lom gets rave all the time but I hear it is pricey. The smell is important since you'd used it at least once everyday, right? ;)

  5. I know a lot of expats here order from iHerb and i've been meaning to take a look at the website. Thanks so much for the recommendation! i ordered the Drunk Elephant night serum set and was very sad that the serum was missing! I'll have to try this out! I'll definitely use your referral code when I finally order ;)

    1. They started carrying some US drugstore stuff, too! For those, I usually order from target, but it is handy to include a few things. I keep hearing about Drunk Elephant skincare - must be good! Sorry to hear the set arrived with something missing. I hope the retailer took care of it. :)

  6. I've been ordering some things from iHerb as well. I have to remember this brand. I sometimes get hormonal breakouts as well, and for some reason, my nose is always the target. Hahaha!

    1. This exfoliant is pretty much the only thing I tried from the brand but obviously I'm curious about other stuff, too. I know that you're not stranger to AHA/BHA and I hope this will agree with you. ;D
