It reminds me of crushed or molten gold and Chinese Empires. :)
L'Oreal Amazon's Flash
It seems that the color would build up to a real glorious gold color after 2-3 coats, but I must admit I cheated here a little bit. ;p
As you all know, any glitter polish is a pain to remove later on.
I applied a very sheer neutral color as base before I put on this gold shade to lessen the pain.
This is a nice trick if you don't want to struggle with removing glitter nail polish, but of course, the finished look would be different.
To me, it was gold enough and i enjoyed the color quite a bit while it was on my tips.
This would be a great choice for holiday glam looks or for an accent color if you wear black all the time like I do. :)
What do you think?
Which one is your favorite gold nail polish? :)
Hi Lena! So far my favourite gold is Milani's gold lame'!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a nice yellow gold colour! I find my skin is a little too yellow for most gold polishes to look good on me, haha :( I have to stick with large glitter accents!
ReplyDeleteI think this one is pretty!! <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a nice gold nailpolish and this one looks quite nice!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great!!! I love gold nail polish but had a problem finding a good one. I have a giveaway on my blog so feel free to join:)

wow its so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color! I def love gold polishes esp when they are super pigmented.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love this color! The glitter is so pretty and it's such a bright shade of gold. It really does remind one of Chinese empires :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your description of this color. Very apt! It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering to win one of my prints on A Very Sweet Blog! Good luck!
WOW this is so beautiful! It's just like one of those essie luxe effects
ReplyDeleteI love it! Great post.
ReplyDeleteI really like this colour! What does it look like layered over other colours?
ReplyDeleteI don't own any gold polish (I don't know why, given I really love gold eyeshadows lol) yet but this one is quite pretty!
ReplyDeletei have been looking forever for the right metallic gold shade!
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of the old royalty and royal havelis in india..and now that you mentioned chinese empires as well..the ornate oriental work...
i think it actually is my first time wearing real gold shade. it was always champagne gold before. :)
ReplyDeletethere is very imperial quality about this color, right? it would have been a better name for this. ;p
ooh it would be so pretty on your fingertips. i love matching eyeshadow and nail polish colors. :)
ReplyDeletethank you! :)
ReplyDeletei haven't tried layering but i think it should look pretty. this polish is quite sheer gives nice smooth finish.
thanks, Nik! :)
ReplyDeleteyou are right! (to think about how i wanted luxe effects! ;d)
ReplyDeletei should try layering this over other colors. :)
thanks. :)
ReplyDeletei love Kim's and your blogs! and it is a fabulous (and fresh!) giveaway.
i hope to win. :D
it is a very nice color. i wish i made a little more contrast against my skin, though.
ReplyDeletethis color reminds me of the movie "curse of the golden flower", which was kinda terrible but visually stunning with blazing gold! :)
thanks. :)
ReplyDeletethis color can definitely build up to intense finish, i believe. ^-^
thanks, Oreleona :D
ReplyDeletei guess it is always hard to find good primary colored polish. ;p
ReplyDeletethanks for the invitation! :)
i agree. :)
ReplyDeleteand for the price i paid, it is a real nice one. ;p
thanks, Pam :)
ReplyDeletehmmm large gold glitter accents sound so nice! :)
ReplyDeletethis is not the best choice for my skintone, either. i am just happy that this much yellow color can still work. heh heh
hey Naomi, thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeletei will look for the color. :D
oh I really like this colour *o* I would use glitter on my nails almost everyday if it wasn't that annoying xD I use your trick everytime I use my glitter nailpolishes =)
ReplyDeletemy favourite gold nailpolish is from essence '06 you're a gold mine' (sometimes these names are just hilarious, aren't they?! xD) but I am not sure if you can purchase essence products in the US. >o<
thanks, Melody!
ReplyDeletei think ulta carries essence products. they look very cute and affordable, too.
there is only one gold shade called gold rush, but i will look into it.
thanks for the recommendation. :D
Very cute color. I am not very good at applying glitter nail polish as I always think I would mess up too much. Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeletethanks for the bday message Lena <3 the nails look lovely, I see what you mean about it reminding you of Chinese empires haha! and does applying a sheer neutral colour underneath actually work? I hate removing glitter nail polish too, and the only thing I apply underneath is a ridge filler. still a pain taking it off haha!
ReplyDeletehey Izzy! :)
ReplyDeletehope you're enjoying your weekend.
i think applying a base before usually works quite well for fine glitter polish like this. i still have trouble with glitters that are bigger, though. ;-/
thank you. :)
ReplyDeletegood thing about fine glitter polishes is that they are easier to apply than matte or big chunky glitters.
removing is the bigger pain for me. i hope the tip works for you, too. :)
Oh I've never heard of that movie - will definitely have to check it out! :)
ReplyDeletei would've never thought to wear gold nail polish.... but this shade is gorgeous! love the different shades of glitter it illuminates. :)
ReplyDeletethe color is very striking under flash lol. gorgeous shade of gold.
ReplyDeletei enjoyed the color a lot surprisingly. i usually shy away from gold shades. ;)
ReplyDeletei enjoyed the color a lot surprisingly. i usually shy away from gold shades. ;)
ReplyDeleteheh heh it is a gong li and chow yun fat movie. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favourite gold polish... yet. I love gold but I haven't found one I love. I agree, I do think this one would be lovely with a few shades but... seriously, why are sparkles so hard to take off?! haha
ReplyDeletea champagne gold would be safe choice for me, too.
ReplyDeletei also tried a shimmery lemon color but it didn't work out at all. :p
leaving aceton soaked cotton balls on the nails kinda work, but then it feels incredibly dry! someone should invent a way to remove glitter polishes safely. lol
HAHA! Thanks for letting us in on your trick. LOL Great color!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.averysweetblog.com/
heh heh it does work! at least for fine glitters like this.
ReplyDeletei can't guarantee anything for chunky big ones, tho!
Beautiful color :)
ReplyDeletethanks, Abegail! :)
