Haul - L'Oreal Project Runway Collection

I don't think I have mentioned this, but I am officially on "Cosmetics No-Buy" and I fell off the wagon today. (What else is new?)
It is so easy to fall when you see some slightly off-season goodies at crazy price. ;->

You have to give me some credit for not having hauled the entire collection, which, by the way, was available at the store. ;)

Owl's Night
Amazon's Flash
Raven's Strength
(They were $1.49 each!)
I am excited about these since they came out after L'Oreal bought Essie.
I don't think spring will come on my tips anytime soon. (*wink*)

Charming Cockatoo's Blush
light to medium cool pink shimmer

swatches

applied with brush
The texture is firm and it applies evenly but nothing special.
$3.99 (I wouldn't pay more than this.)

Charming Cockatoo's Gaze
It is so much better than the last L'Oreal pressed powder eyeshadow I purchased.
(That was years ago, btw.)
$3.99

swatch
They are nice, but honestly, I prefer those Jane quads I purchased recently.
The bluish shimmery grey is really pretty, though.

What do you think?
Have you tried some of this Project Runway collection? :)

  1. Nice haul. You are right. Good thing L'Oreal is a cheap makeup line. But I do like the colors.

  5. I saw these on Project Runway! The swatches look so nice, and don't feel too guilty for sales because you might not see those products for a good price for awhile :o

  6. Haven't tried any of these yet, but I really want to try those nail polishes. Too bad that I'm on a makeup ban :/

  7. wow, such good deals on the nail polishes. Didn't even know there was a Project Runway collection (or maybe it's not available in Aus?) but the swatches are quite pretty. I like the pink shades! xD

  8. Oooh, L'Oreal bought Essie? I didn't know that! The nail polishes look gorgeous, and the bottles do look a tad like Essie's bottles haha.

  9. The nail polishes are what stands out here in my opinion, and the blush looks lovely (for 3.99 it's really cool)!

I don't know that Loreal bought essie! thx for the info.:D
maybe that explains why essie price here in germany is going down . They're 50& cheaper now than it used to!

I didn't know that Loreal bought Essie. Thanks for the heads up. Wonder if Loreal line of nail polish would change. What a great deal for the nail polish!! Such a steal!

  12. yeah, i believe it was last year. essie will still distribute to salons but those essie bottles with big logos are retail version. in fact, last summer l'oreal brought out a summer collection that was identical to essie's previous collection.
i am not sure how that would affect the polish quality itself, though. i will try my new goodies and report back to ya! :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. interesting! i assume essie was more expensive because it was just a u.s. brand imported but now it is more affordable since global l'oreal controls it? something like this is just fascinating to me. (makeup geek here. lol)

you would be surprised to know how many brands l'oreal owns!

    ReplyDelete
  14. yup. i saw them last fall but didn't look at them twice at the full price. lol
now i found them at a fraction of the original price, they look all so lovely. ;p

    ReplyDelete
  15. yes. that is how essie went retail. i mean we could find essie from drugstores even before, but now they have separate retail version with essie logo on it.
i hope this improves l'oreal polish quality. i didn't like them much in the past. ;p

  16. to be honest, i learned there was a tv show like that after this makeup collection came out. lolz
it was not crazy popular like revlon lip butters or l'oreal infallibles, but i know there were some makeup fanatics collected this one. so i am glad i found them at great prices! :)

  17. heh isn't it worse that i was on makeup ban but fell down miserable after a few days?
i am excited about the nail polishes as well.
the golden khaki one looks like that butter london one. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. thanks, Chloe.
you are so sweet. now i feel a little better! lol
i just need to make sure i don't go back for the rest of collection. ;p

  19. ah i don't know, Kim
the store is too close to where i work. i might just go back and haul everything home!
    ;p

  20. that color is the one i am most excited about!
it reminds me of butter london Wallis. :)

  21. i know i know..nail polishes are not l'oreal's forte. lol
i really like the gold shade, too. will do a NOTD soon. :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. i am glad they were on super sale.
i'd never pay for the full price since l'oreal stuff is always a little more than other brands. :)

  23. can't believe those polished are 1.49 each! what a steal! I love the color of the blush. I seriously need to restock my make-up bag, I haven't bought any make-up for 6 months now, need some replenishment!

    ReplyDelete
  24. 6 months? i respect you.
bad thing is i buy lots of clothes and i am not even running a fashion blog here. lolz
i liked all your makeup, though. you have great stuff that suits you beautifully. ;)

  26. I can't seem to wrap my mind around Loreal coming out with nail polishes.

    AAAAH.

  27. I've seen these used on the show & have since wanted to try them. It's very affordable too! Though it doesn't look like anything SUPER special. Thanks for the swatches! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  29. it is a gorgeous color!
i usually shy away from golds but i had to get this one. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. sure!
i thought the same thing when they first were introduced back in fall.
it is a different story if they are on sale like this. ;p

    ReplyDelete
  31. i know, right?
l'oreal is a brand for mascara and haircare to me as well. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  32. i agree. i think the polishes were the real deal not the eyeshadow or the blush. ;p

    ReplyDelete
  33. Love the haul! I've only seen that collection a few times, but never picked up any, thanks for sharing

I'm also on a no-makeup ban! It's really hard to do! Thanks for sharing the swatches and for the review. I've heard of the collection but didn't know much about it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. i think it was foolish of me even to go to a store when i am on a ban!
i am like a kid at candy store. lolz

  41. sorry, it might be the setting i've put on.
i would get spams now and then so anything with links has to wait for approval. yours is on the whitelist, you won't have problems again. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. ooh, hope you don't mind me asking but where did you find these goodies?

    ReplyDelete
  43. not at all. :)
there is a dc store called lot less. they have a couple of locations. merchandise turn-over seems to be very quick, though.
    hths!

    ReplyDelete
  44. i'll check it out. thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I picked up a nude color blush from this collection and it does not even show up on my skin. I was disappointed in it. The pink blush looks good on you though.

    ReplyDelete
  46. aw, that's too bad.
this pink blush i picked up is quite pigmented. i must say the staying power is just so-so. :)
