Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow 248 Tissé Rhapsodie

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Tissé Rhapsodie is an LE eyeshadow quad from Collection La Perle de Chanel for spring 2015. The whole lineup is on the soft and delicate side (Chanel says it is inpired by "the graceful world of ballet"), and naturally, it hasn't been received that well in the blogging world.
To be honest, I feel a little tired of this mainstream bloggoworld where "audacious and pigmented" is the key word and "sheer and delicate" is often dismissed.
This eyeshadow quad is exactly that - sheer and delicate, which many say "not worth paying for".

I happen to like it a lot as it is.

The pink leans cool and has a froasted finish.
The ivory shade is with a tinge of pale pink and gold.
The medium purple is surprisingly warm when swatched and has a satin finish.
The shimmery taupe is most shimmery and very complex with multi undertones - khaki, gray. and gold.

I don't wet my eyeshadows, so this "multi-effect" does not mean much to me. However, I do like the depths and complexity from this half-baked formulation with minimal powder kick-up.
For vivid wet swatches, visit Temptalia. (According to her, it is fully opaque when swatched wet, but I wouldn't know.)

These are the real life swatches, in my book.
(I swatched them dry over my lightly lotioned arm with the sponge tips included in the quad.)

It is not one of those usual pastel palettes with candy-like hues. I love the hazy dusty quality of each shades, and that is exactly why I decided to get my hands on this quad.
Over a darker cream base, even the pink creates an easy smoky look blending everything so easily. And of course, the darkest shade, the taupe is quite sexy and unique on its own.

It creates rather a decadent look when I used all four shades together, and the warm purple is most pronounced.
