Chanel Les 4 Ombres 354 Warm Memories

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Warm Memories ($62, Chanel) initially came out as a part of Chanel's Spring-Summer 2020 collection, but guess what. It is being repromoted this year. Chanel has created these two new eyeshadow quads for the new Spring-Summer Collection 2021 but the U.S. is not getting them, which is why Warm Memories and a few other items are featured again in this year's collection (and, Chanel probably didn't sell them very well last year). I have heard that there has been a production issue with these new eyeshadows and Chanel has decided to distribute the limited quality to the Europe and Asian markets where they bring the most sales in. I personally blame Trump for this and I am only half-joking.

Actually, I had no idea that Warm Memories would become relevant again this year when I purchased it. Last year, I was clearing many of my old wishlist items and Warm Memories happened to be one of them. I dismissed this palette when it came out thinking it's too warm-toned for me but for some reason, I couldn't get it out of my mind. There was something about this rather understated palette.

You see, the name "Warm Memories" can be misleading. Except for the bright orange shimmer, all other shades are quite muted and cool toned. No wonder I kept thinking about this quad!

I wouldn't say the color composition is bold but I find the combination of muted plums and bright clear orange shimmer is quite special. 

Application and color payoffs are very nice. Nothing is super pigmented but the colors go on evenly and are easy to blend. They stay on well over my favorite eyeshadow primer for many hours.
