I don't know why I keep buying makeups with these muted rose hues, because generally speaking, this evergreen makeup trend doesn't play well with my own complexion. I know there are so many different colors of rose, but saturated red roses are the only ones that I feel comfortable wearing and that's mostly limited to my lips. The pinks that I like to wear are usually not described as "roses", either. Regardless, I always see people rocking these muted rosy shades on the web and naturally get tempted to try them for myself betraying my better judgment. So, today's look is my practical attempt to put these rosy-colored makeups I've accumulated into work.
Not a terrible look, but it's not something I would put together when I want to look my best. This time, I didn't "tweak" my natural features by wearing blue/grey contacts, for example, which would have yielded a slightly better result. I think choosing a base with a bright luminous finish helps a lot because I am wearing a matte lip colors and no strong shimmer elsewhere. Again, it's all about balance.
Canmake Silky Souffle Eyes (Rose Sepia)
Tocca Gia - I wanted to throw in a rosy fragrance. Gia is a sugared rose with generic musk, not exactly my cup of tea.
Clinique Cheek Pop (Heather Pop)
Black Rouge Rose Velvet Lipstick (Forest Rose)
Givenchy Photo'Perfexion (101 Perfect Beige)
Glossier Boy Brow (Clear)
Faber-Castel Ebony drawing pencil
Essence Lash Princess Waterproof mascara (Black)

- You know I am a big fan of this discontinued Givenchy Photo'Perfexion. Love it for the translucent yellow-beige shade and the beautiful finish.
- Canmake Silky Souffle Eyes ($13 on Amazon) is really an awesome palette. Despite the silky soft texture, the colors don't crease and stay true. Very impressive for something this affordable.
- I will review Black Rouge Rose Velvet Lipstick in depth later on. It's a decent formula and I really like the shade I got.
- Clinique Heather Pop is something I would describe as a cool rosy pink and I find it quite flattering and easy to wear. This wasn't the shade I was excited about when I got the LE Cheek Pop palette (reviewed here, and I highly recommend you grab this one because it's such a great deal - $27.99 on Amazon for 3 full-sized blushes).
Thanks for being here. Do you like the muted rose makeup colors?

DeleteWhaaa? If this is not your best look then I can't wait to see your best look. I especially like your eye look and lipstick. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks for much, D.! (*heart eyes*). It is possible that "best look" is just a concept in my head but I always feel warmer reddish shades look aging on me or making me sickly. It's a strong trend and I do want to find a way to wear these colors. :)
DeleteLove this look! It's screams SUMMER! You look gorg!
