Friendliest Coral: Rouge Bunny Rouge Starina

Rouge Bunny Rouge | Original Skin Blush For Love Of Roses Starina

Back in June when I purchased Starina on sale, I thought it was going to be discontinued. Surprisingly it is still available on the Rouge Bunny Rouge site. It is the old version at a more affordable price than the others ($28 vs $35). Some of the colors like Delicata and Gracilis have been repackaged and embossed prettier (if that's even possible). I am not sure if Starina will be brought back in the other packaging, but I know that it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a look before it is gone. This shy beauty is kind of special.

Not only Starina is palest, but also the friendliest coral. For me, passionate or even aggressive are the words I think of when it comes to coral blushes. Rouge Bunny Rouge Starina is probably the first coral that I can wear without being conscious about. It doesn't look aging nor ruddy on me and I don't need that "light hand" to apply it. And, that amazing and unique texture of Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush! It truly melds in with skin and creates a beautiful and most subtle glow. It is never drying, so for some like me who prefers pressed powder blush over cream types, there is no better winter blush out there.

Rouge Bunny Rouge is always spot-on with color descriptions and no exception here.
Palest coral with an illuminating radiance - Great for any pale complexions

Being so friendly, Starina works wonderfully for any look. It is perfection with peachy pink lips. When I wear it with a bright warm red, Starina softens the complexion and brings the whole thing together.

I have been enjoying this friendly shade of coral ever since. Starina is such a comforting color! It is difficult to use up a blush so I wouldn't need a backup anytime soon, but I hope Starina would come back in a new dress and join her sisters.

  1. Oh I have this too! And you're right. It's so easy to wear. On me, it's more of a nude coral. Looks more peachy coral on you :-) I need to take it out to wear again. It's been neglected.

    1. I remember seeing this in one of your look posts, Lily! It is a very pretty color but unobtrusive at the same time. I've been wearing this with red lips a lot lately. :)

  2. I like how you described this as the the friendliest coral Lena! Coral can be a little intimidating to wear and this one looks and sounds very forgiving haha ;p The formulation of this blush sounds wonderful too. I tend to avoid powder anything this time of year because my dry skin just hates it.

I would agree with you that the midtown location of Sushi of Gari is probably the best but I like that the Tribeca one is walking distance just like the UES one is for you. It wouldn't keep me from frequenting Takahachi but I like keeping my options open when dining out LOL Happy weekend to you! Good luck staying warm :)

    1. I never imagined there would be a coral this pale and didn't think it'd look different from a peach blush, and it actually does (sans yellow, hence prettier).

Takahachi is one of my favorite place to lunch! Let's promise that we would say hello if we ever bump into each other at one of these places (another possible spot would be the Arcade bakery, maybe..? ;p).

  3. Gorgeous! I'm absolutely in love with the texture and how it has this beautiful slightly translucent quality!

    1. Thanks! The formulations is really something and the name "Original Skin Blush" is quite right. The lasting power isn't bad, either.

  4. I tried to get their orpheline on beautyhabit and I noticed their price hike/Naturally I bailed...Hopefully the new compact uses sturdier plastic (both my eyeshadow have cracked hinges).

    1. I don't know if you have other items that you are interested in, but I'd order directly from the site and take advantage of one of those 20% off blogger codes floating around. I've also seen Orpheline on Beautybar at a quite cheap price. You might want to check it out. I want Orpheline as well and the other day I was looking at it. LOL. It isn't the new packaging, though (even on their website). But I can tell you in general their new packaging is much sturdier and has a high-end feel to it (I can tell you this because I got the highlighting powder and it is in the new case).

  5. What a lovely subtle shade! I think I just saw this range highlighted on Shireen's blog and am very curious about it now. It looks totally wearable and versatile.

    1. It is interesting that RBR blushes all come in kind of subdued complex shades. They do amazing job on pressed powder formulations including face powder and eyeshadows. I highly recommend them! :)
