A very modern and posh choice for the warmer months if you ask me.
L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail Polish Never Lacque-ing
The application is a bit tricky as it goes on quite streaky.
I wouldn't be quick to judge that L'Oreal Never Lacque-ing is a bad one, though.
I've had my share of experimenting with different nail polishes, but I have yet to find a pale color with an opaque creme finish that is streak-free. This tends to be the case with opaque pastels, too. Any polish with lots of white pigments thrown in, actually.
There is a distinct difference in finish when it comes to an opaque nude polish like this compared to a similar color with creme-gel consistency. Both are beautiful in my view as they are two favorite polish types of mine, but the difference is worth going through the trouble if you're a little nuts about nail polishes like me. If you don't feel that passionate about it, just roll with a sheer color and layer it. Life is easier that way. ;)
Here are some of my choices for opaque nudes.
Essie Topless & Barefoot
L'Oreal Never Lacque-ing
Essie Ballet Slippers
Topless & Barefoot is more of a pure beige with sandy undertones, which actually is my all time favorite color for toes.
Ballet Slippers is a classic example of uptown chic.
All of them are super streaky, yet super mod and worth it, in my humble opinion.
The trick with a streaky polish is to "let go".
The first coat is always streaky with these. Just relax your strokes and put the polish gently on rather than brushing back and forth trying to smooth it out. The second coat and a fast drying top coat will most likely take care of this problem.
I personally don't believe in wearing a polish with 3 coats even if it is a sheerest color. It just seems to kill the beauty of the nail polish regardless of the finish, although this would be a personal preference.
Have you tried these polishes?
What is your favorite nude color with an opaque creme finish?

Haha Lena, you're hilarious! I've never thought about "letting go" applies to makeup as well ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is an endearing shade on you! So clean and classic! My favorite opaque nude nail polish would probably be Dior Incognito. It is available in the new formula in the US, but not in Europe! It's OK though. I don't think I'm running out of it anytime soon :)
LOL. It does help! ;)
DeleteI thought the Dior Incognito was a gel-creme polish. I will look at it again. A beautiful shade nonetheless! :)
Love that color! I recently brought Loreal nail polish with thing i noticed that it dries very fast. btw great post :)

Thank you! :)
DeleteI believe L'Oreal nail polishes have improved in quality over the years. They are much more like Essie now.
I'm also a Let it go girl in terms of nail polishes. This colour is just gorgeous. I think I need it!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! :)
DeleteYes, go for this one. If you like chic nude polishes, this one is good.
I agree-I think 3 coats ruins a nail polish! I wish I was a patient as you Lena haha! Pretty shade!
ReplyDeleteRight? Thank God, I'm not the only one who thinks that.
DeleteI love the light grey tone in this polish. I will be wearing this a lot this summer. :)
hmm i dont know about letting go. i usally get all panicky about the first layer of streakiness and pray that the 2nd will work out to smooth things over. sometimes that doesn't happen and its all kinds of awful patchiness on my nails. i seriously don't think i know how to paint my nails since this happens to me A LOT.
ReplyDeleteHaha you're too adorable, jenn :)
DeleteI hate to say this but you need to practice with your own nail. I've gotten dramatically good after a nail polish phase. I was changing colors every single day. After a while, I could boil an instant ramen noodle soup or fix myself a bowl of cereals 5 minutes after polishing my nails, too! No problem. ;)
I don't think I have enough of these pretty, delicate colors! I should try some of Essie's yearly bridal collections!
ReplyDeleteYou can never go wrong with these colors. Love Essie's bridal collections although most of them are sheer. I also like their resort collections! :)
DeleteI love this color. I was staring at these nail polishes at the store and left because I was not sure what I was looking for. I might have to pick this one up. And I am with you about streaky polishes being the norm for light colors. I had a deborah lippmann one which is extremely streaky too. so I don't think it is about quality, but just how light colors are.
ReplyDeleteI'd recommend Essie polishes for this color range. She does them so well! There are many complex yet easy to wear shades.
DeleteI totally agree with you on that it is not the quality it is the nature of certain type of nail polishes! :)
Never Lacque-ing looks gorgeous! Although I might think twice if they're streaky. I found Essie polishes streaky as well. It's such a shame because they have such pretty pastel colours. I'm going to have to keep your tips in mind next time I pick up an Essie polish!
ReplyDeleteEssie has many gel-creme polishes with excellent application. You can probably find a substitute for this color only in a slightly different finish. :)
DeleteI really like ballet slippers! I need something like that...believe it or not I only have one pale pink in my collection! That pale lilac is unique but I don't like the greyish undertone!
ReplyDeleteI love Ballet Slippers, too! I always have a bottle of this, Mademoiselle and Sugar Daddy. ;)
DeleteAnd that is exactly why I picked up Never Lacque-ing polish. The mauve undertone! ;)
I like soft opaque colours and I really like greyish nail polishes. I wish we get these L'Oreal polishes here. Ours are still the ancient ones >_< UGH!
ReplyDeleteOh? I hope you get them soon. BTW do you have Essie polishes over there? I'd go for Essie if they are about the same price. I still prefer Essie even over the new L'Oreal ones. :)
DeleteThis is such a soft and sophisticated color! I usually don't have the patience for opaque nail polishes so I stick with sheer formulations.
ReplyDeleteRowena @ rolala loves
Sheer formulations are much easier to work with and they look breezier in summer! I also like layering polishes with different finish. :)
Deletelove, love, love the color. i was obsessed with gray polishes a few years ago...i really like when it has that mauve-y undertone.
ReplyDeleteWe seem to have the same taste in nail polish! The mauve undertone is exactly the reason I picked up this color. :)
DeleteI love nude/beige nail polishes, and this one has definitely got me interested. I'm with you about the 3 coats thing, plus I could never be that patient! ;P
ReplyDeleteSometimes I am amazed to see 3 coats all over especially from so-called nail bloggers. It just isn't as pretty although it is a personal preference.
DeleteThis one is definitely super mod especially with the complex grey/mauve undertone! :)
Gaaaaaaah, so pretty on you! I'm always convinced these delicate shades look horrible on me.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz!
DeleteI don't know why you'd think that, though! Of course, light colors would look beautiful on you. :)
I love love love this colour!! It looks so gorgeous on you! Must get my hands on this (or get this on my hands harharhar)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Angel! :)
DeleteYeah, get this on your hands! LOL
So gorgeous. Your nails are perfect and love that cool hue on you. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary! :)
DeleteOkay, so this is a super late comment, but ♥.♥ this is such a pretty shade
ReplyDeleteHey Rae :)
DeleteThanks! I'm reaching for this quite often lately.
