Everybody now talks about the new F/W collections, but here I am, talking about the summer makeup in September (what else is new, right?). I meant to review Suqqu Hikaribore sooner as it is one of my favorite makeup purchases in a while. Generally speaking, I gravitate more toward fall/winter colors and don't find too many summer makeups appealing but this pink smokey quad looked amazing to me.

I picked up my second Suqqu eyeshadow palette about a year after my first one (reviewed). I was thoroughly impressed in my first experience but wasn't going to make a habit out of it because getting Suqqu stuff is just not an easy task. I see Yuushakuyaku is a safe and practical choice. It's something I can recommend in a heartbeat if someone is looking for a quality everyday neutral eyeshadow palette but not necessarily adventurous with colors.

Back in the fall of 2018, Chanel brought out a handful of new Ombre Première eyeshadow singles with metallic shimmer. They were meant to be limited editions and labled "Exclusive Creation", but still are available on Chanel website and other retailers.
My choice, Cuivre Lamé (907) was an absolute standout and I knew that it would be a great standalone eyeshadow that pairs well with dramatic lip colors (and, this thought led me to add the No.5 lipstick in the cart as well).

This review is way overdue because I finished up with these routines many months ago. Initially, I was drawn to the clean aesthetics and the unusual name of the brand (for a Korean skincare brand, anyway) plus there was a fantastic deal going on at the time of my purchase. My laziness is solely to blame for the lateness of this post because I was thoroughly impressed with everything I tried. I also forgot to take close-up photos for the actual stuff but the pages linked up here have pretty accurate photos and descriptions, so here I will just focus on my experience with them.

This look is about the blue-tinted contact lenses that I have been loving for some time. The whole series, LensMe Mochi (silicone hydrogel) is awesome for both design and comfort, and I have tried every color offered except for the pink. Unfortunately though, now the fun colors like the blue, pink, and green (wearing it in this look) are discontinued and this upset many fans including myself. The blue color is my favorite because of the true blue tint but it is very subtle by the unique halo design. It allows me to wear makeup with low-contrasting colors.

I think including myself, many of us love multi-tasking products when it comes to beauty. And, reliable sunscreen with cosmetic elegance would be such an ideal notion, wouldn't it? We all know that wearing sunscreen is not optional but at the same time, finding something that provides real protection yet doesn't interfere with makeup is not an easy task. Luckily, we now seem to have more options compared to years ago. Here are some that I have tried recently.

I did this look a while ago but wasn't sure about doing a Look Book post with it. For one thing, many products I used to create the look are either discontinued or hard to find. Also, I wasn't very happy with the outcome - it's a classic case study of "personal color analysis". Some colors - in this case, green and muted rose - just require more efforts of me who usually is analyzed as a "winter bright" or "clear". It is frustrating, but I will always be open-minded towards new things and different colors/textures.

Last fall, I bought three red lipsticks with full coverage. They all come in gorgeous colors with nice quality (you can read my thoughts on the other two, here & here), but Armani Rouge d'Armani Matte 400 is my favorite by far. This is such a beauty with a formidable presence. I can't say this particular shade exudes spring per se, but I am still loving it.

I had wanted this dusky purple smokey duo for the longest time. I even swatched it a couple times but for some reason, the actual swatches always looked a little bit less attractive than what I'd imagined. Like other BLKR stuff, it was exclusive at NARS website and the Bleeker street store. Surprisingly though, NARS BLKR eyeshadow duo didn't make the cut for NARS' recent eyeshadow renewal and the BLKR blush and the lip pencil also seem to be discontinued.

What I do for my hair is quite minimal - I don't use styling products in general. My hair hasn't been chemically treated for several years now. I guess this is a combination of a good fortune and laziness. I have slightly thick wavy hair that is very easy to take care of, and lots of it (at least for now). I usually lack wills to do something artful to make my hair look pretty AND time to do so.
If I have to categorize my hair type, I would say it is normal. But, what does that really mean? Sometimes my scalp feels oily and the ends dry. I have to deal with frizzes on a humid day. Which is why I always keep more than a few different sets of shampoo and conditioner in my shower booth. This seems to help deal with each situation in a carefree way. Among more than a dozen that I've gone through for the past 6 months, today I will be talking about the ones that I've actually enjoyed or think worth recommending.

Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions is a great neutral smokey palette with a good mix of matte and shimmer plus a rather excellent matte black (you can see the swatches here). Unlike the Mauve Obsessions, I find this one very easy to wear and versatile. Please read on for the look I recently created with this universally flattering palette.

I am going to pretend that I hadn't been missing here for months and months and casually pick up from where I left. Today I will show you another saturated red lipstick that I have been enjoying lately. (Hello again, everyone)
