LOL I gave one to a friend (I have a few) and she said she loved it. I myself have tried the Laneige version and I have to say I quite like the finish! It makes my skin appear so smooth but at the same time looks so natural. I have heard that Sulwhasoo makes the best cushion compact, though, which I haven't tried yet. Why? The Korean color selections are way to pale and they had to add some medium/dark shades to make it here, which I totally understand. It made me smile! :)
That's a damn pity that a Korean company comes to America (queue the song "LIVIN' IN AMERICA! EYE TO EYE! STATION TO STATION!"-James Brown) and you're not able to find a color match?! I think it's time for an UPRISING. I feel so bad for the millions of people who can't find color matches and makes me so mad at cosmetics companies. If you're not going to offer a full spectrum - one that reflects the population of the country you're selling in, just get out of here and take your paltry suitcase of limited choices with you. kristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04131185232993094419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5943243351869685029.post-53818062990630697232015-06-30T22:14:12.921-04:002015-06-30T22:14:12.921-04:00I don't think a cushion compact should be this...I don't think a cushion compact should be this pricey any way since we get so little of it. My mother loves the Lancome one I sent to her but she loves anything Lancome and Chanel, so her opinion doesn't count(?). Still Lancome seems to have most color choices avail.
Sometimes I think the result might the same if I use that blue sponge (or any dense sponge really) and very liquid-y foundation. When I had it put on me at Nordstrom, the rep asked if I wanted to go paler than my actual skin tone like the Koreans do, or whether I wanted a close match. I asked for the close match but didn't ask what the shade was because at the time there was no way I was spending $70+ on a base. I think she put that Tan shade on me but it ended up looking a little on the pale side regardless, and Arianne (The Glitter Geek) said none of the shades from Sephora were dark enough for her.

Anyway, I love that you got the full experience with that mini sponge (the sponge is EVERYTHING). Higher-ends like Hera and Sulhwasoo have a few more ingredients that are supposedly good for skin or something. I've only tried laniege's bb cushion and have one from IOPE I've yet to open! I realize that a lot of these korean brands which are more departmental store type level in asia are marketed as luxury brands over in the west. I think you'd be best off getting it online, as it would be cheaper as well. Even in Singapore I buy many of my korean products online, as it's so much cheaper. I've heard that etude house makes a decent BB cushion and the shades go light enough for you too. Also Innisfree as well but their is known for being more natural in coverage, nothing more than medium and their shades are suited to the fair-light skinned as per typical asian bb/cc products. I'm actually quite pleased to see brands churning out tanner colors as it's always harder for those NC30 or darker to find matches :pSharlynn https://www.blogger.com/profile/16757611222415772717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5943243351869685029.post-54233366752321208792015-06-25T19:32:17.641-04:002015-06-25T19:32:17.641-04:00I know, right? Usually I expect Asian brands to go with a limited range of very fair shades rather than deeper. I saw this at Sephora and immediately became all starry-eyed for it! But since I had never tried a cushion compact before, I decided to buy one from their more affordable sister brand Etude House (which, for what it's worth, has the same shade ranges available in NA and Asia I think). Maybe it has a few more "precious skin benefiting ingredients" or something, you know? Which is quite typical in cosmetic business. Although it wouldn't be a good comparison since I only wore this one once, but I will try and compare when I buy other ones. :)Lena Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10485496107102256334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5943243351869685029.post-67124202705387069822015-06-25T13:23:04.680-04:002015-06-25T13:23:04.680-04:00Yeah I hear you about the shades.
