MEMEBOX I'M MEME I'm Stick Shadow Spinel & Ash Stone

My favorite way of wearing eye makeup is basing the lids first with dark pencil liners, and for that, L'Oreal Voluminous Smoldering Liner is still my favorite. I have all three shades - black, brown, and gray, and they usually work very well with most of my eyeshadows. Sometimes though, I want a lighter base that wouldn't alter the main eyeshadow colors as much and these I'm Stick Shadows looked suitable when I was filling MEMEBOX cart at that time.

(I'm trying to blog more often and clear out my backlog photos. Some of them were taken last year. It's ridiculous.)

Spinel is a warm dusty amethyst and Ash Stone is a cool taupe with khaki undertones. Both are strong with shimmer and pigmented. Consistency is quite lovely being not too slippery nor too dry and these sticks glide on without tugging or skipping.

I know I bought these to use as base colors but I ended up wearing them by themselves since both shades are pretty and unique on their own. As you see in the second swatch photo, it isn't difficult to control color intensity. They are very long-lasting if applied over a thin layer of eyeshadow primer like Cargo HD Picture Perfect Eyeshadow Primer (my new favorite, btw). I usually blend out the harsh edges by adding a light shimmery peach pink color like Peripera Wholly Deep Jewel Pot #11 (another daily favorite for that dewy shimmery look).

Here is an overall look with Spinel.

I've noticed that now I can buy MEMEBOX stuff at Ulta or on Amazon. For makeup items, it's interesting the MEMEBOX website actually directs U.S. buyers to the sites like Amazon and YesStyle. Prices are even cheaper than getting them from overseas eBay sellers, too. I'm Stick Shadow is available on Amazon for $11 a piece.

I've been lucky with the MEMEBOX's house brands so far. Both skincare and makeup I've tried are all quite nice and I'm Stick Shadow isn't an exception. I really enjoy the two shades I picked up and might get a couple more light shades.

Have you tried these stick eyeshadows or something else from the MEMEBOX makeup range? How do you like them?

  1. I tried one of these stick shadows before. I liked the texture, but the colour I picked was way too glittery. I don't remember what shade it was... I gave it to my cousin :-)

    1. I should look at swatch pictures more carefully next time, then! I love shimmer but glitters not so much ;p

    1. I think I like these better than Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks, for example. The finish may not be as sophisticated but they are easier to work with for some reason. ;)

  3. Both shades are so pretty and wearable! Being lazy when it comes to makeup, I'm a big fan of eyeshadows in stick form and these are so affordable too :) Happy new week Lena!

    1. I find stick eyeshadows are great for creating color depths - this is probably why I almost never complain about eyeshadows being sheerly pigmented. Have a great week, Rowena. <3
