NOTD - Butter London Lucy In The Sky

Butter London Lucy In The Sky

As I promised in my line nail post (aka "strobed nails" if you will), I did a full mani with Butter London Lucy In The Sky.
It served pretty nicely for the holiday concerts I had recently, but these fine glitters set in a neutral base was just fine for simple work days.

Butter London Lucy In The Sky
Lucy In The Sky is quite prim and proper for a glitter polish, but look at those aqua and blue specs!

Lucy In The Sky NOTD
I didn't go for a full coverage this time. Only two coats were applied because I didn't wanna suffer too much later on (and I didn't, thank God!).

NOTD Butter London Lucy In The Sky

It's the weekend, so I will show you some more pretties that I recently found from a Bloomingdale's outlet that opened up in my neighborhood.

I got a Butter London polish set which includes my all time favorite red creme polish ever, Come To Bed Red. Plus freebies from NCLA.

Another one because they are pretty.

Butter London Lucy In The Sky & West End Wonderland
West End Wonderland, the glitter polish from the set is more of a true gold maybe with a hint of khaki. We will see how that plays out on nails.

Hope you enjoyed this quick post.
Happy weekend, everyone!

  1. I've been really interested in glitter polish recently ('tis the season, I guess), and this is one I never thought I needed: a glitter in a neutral color! I like that it can function as a topcoat or on its own.

    1. I think you wear glitters very well, AB! :)
Lucy In The Sky is a wonderfully versatile as you said. It is a nice alternative to those boring pale colors which are quite difficult to pull off in colder months anyway.

  2. I only wear glitter nail polish once a year which is this time of the year for Christmas and then suffer through the removal process. I don't think I've used Butter London nail polish before, how's the quality and longevity? Do they chip within a few days like Ciate? Sorry for the questions but I love nail polish and I have an addiction for it like lipsticks. LOL!

    1. Nothing like glitters for Christmas, though! I suggest you go to a nail salon after a glitter session and maybe tip the technician generously? ;)
I used to not think very highly of Butter London glitters although I find their creme and shimmer are just excellent. They seem much better now, and the quality is certainly better than Ciate in my humble opinion. But Deborah Lippman would be my other recommendation since she does glitters like nobody's business. :)

  3. I have a love hate relationship with glitter nail polish :-) You just reminded me to pull out my Butter London nail polishes though. I only have 2 in my stash now. The rest are Dior and Essie :-)

    1. I wish the peel-off base coat for glitter worked for me. It doesn't! Otherwise, I will be sporting glitters more often. ;(
I really like Essie polishes for myself. Haven't bought any Dior in years because the brush shape is not ideal for me, but I believe the shades and the formulation are superb!

  4. Christmas is the best time for glittery nails, isn't it! They're a pain to take off but it's well worth it when you find the right shade.

My pick out of the bunch would be West End wonderland because it looks gorgeous! Would love to see the colour on you.

    1. Yes! I'd pick glitters over those Christmas red for my nails, please. ;p
West End Wonderland seems to have richer pigment and density plus the description says it gives a full coverage. I'm quite curious about this one, then again I need to brave up to try a full mani. Soon, though! :)

  6. I have West End Wonderland! I think it's with S right now though. I think Lucy in the Sky is so pretty! It looks like a more delicate glitter - not so chunky or thickly textured. *__*

This one I had on for more than a week procrastinating from removing. Colors like this is low maintenance at least. ;)

    1. It's nice to have one nearby for sure! I want to check it out more closely, but so far I didn't spot really good deals there except for these polishes. :)

    1. Thank you! I think I love it more thanks to its neutral base. Some glitters look harsh on nails although they are really pretty by themselves. Lucy In the Sky is actually flattering on. :)

  10. I love to wear glitter nail polishes near Christmas as they're so festive ^^
But removing them is a pain in the a** , lol.

    1. I wanna wear glitters more often, but the reason you stated...*sighs*
I think I will just wear one coat from now on over a cream base or something. That way the pain would be somewhat bearable. ;p

  11. Love the look of Lucy in the Sky! I love that it's a neutral glitter. Those two words usually don't go together, but this polish does it perfectly!

    1. Hi, Kristen! How are you? Hope you're doing well. Missed you! <3
Lucy In the Sky is so gorgeous that it made me rethink of the whole glitter range from Butter London. ;)

  12. Lucy in the Sky is so pretty. I got this one a few years ago and remember wearing it as an accent nail for a long time. Then Butter London left Germany. I don't know what happened, it is really a pity, they had very fun shades.

    1. Sorry to hear it's not easily accessible for you!
I was very disappointed when I learned that Butter London is not really from England (it's a bit funny to think about it!), but it is still one of my favorite mid-high nail polish brands. I'm glad that I decided to give their glitters another go because it was after I completely dismissed them after a few bad ones. ;)

  13. Lucy In The Sky is so stunning :)
When I worked in Helsinki last summer I found some Butter London polishes :) I did not buy any though cause I could not justify the prize since I have so many polishes :) If I would have found a polish that I thought stood out enough I would have bought it though :)
Love the look of the other polishes too... finding a good red nail polish can be a bit tricky :)
    xx

    1. There are a few of very special shades in the BL range like Come to Bed Red which I wouldn't mind paying the full price, but I agree with you. I think I prefer more affordable salon ranges like Essie in general and some Revlon polishes for example. :)
