Chanel Signe Particulier Quadra Eyeshadow

Chanel Signe Particulier Quadra Eyeshadow

I thought my makeup heart was slowly dying or something since I hadn't coveted anything in a while. But it sang a little (more of a twitch, actually) when I saw Signe Particulier Quadra from the Chanel holiday 2015 collection. So I happily obliged.

Like many Chanel collections, "Collection Vamp Attitude" excels in color composition if their formulation is questionable to some. (I happen to like the Chanel eyeshadow formula.) I love that the typical holiday elements like gold and red are all there yet it's dark and mysterious.

Chanel Signe Particulier

Chanel Signe Particulier is basically a purple smoky quad with a gold accent. Chanel speaks of "exquisite versatility", and I think they might be on point (I enjoyed watching these videos for two very different eye looks using Signe Particulier; I was impressed to see the model actually seems to know how to put on makeup).

Then, I lotioned my arm to show better color intensity.

Every shade is fairly well-pigmented and seems to blend well. I love the color composition of this quad more than anything. Dusty purple is my all-time favorite anyway, but the whole thing just becomes a bit more special with great highlighting and accent shades tucked in together.

I still need to figure out the best way to wear Signe Particulier, but I know I am going to have a lot of fun with this unique, wearable quad. A few look posts are in order.

Thanks for looking!
Wish everyone a great weekend.

  1. I love the top row of swatches! Look posts are totally in order, because I can't imagine how to tie the gold into the look.

    1. Chanel suggests the gold saffron for an all-over lid shade, but you can use it in the middle to accent or on the lower lash lines to add subtle glamour. :)

  2. Such a stunning quad, I can't wait to get mine. Your swatches are so on point, makes me more excited!

    1. It is beautifully composed, right? I think the colors would all look beautiful on you. Purple and gold complement green eyes! :)

  3. I saw this in person and swatched it and was pleasantly surprised. Chanel quads are way out of my price range though ... but I would love to own one, one day :) I do like purples and the gold is a beautiful accent, but I'm sure I have similar shades in my eyeshadow stash already. But I'm glad to hear you stumbled across a product that (kind of) reawakened your makeup heart :p

    1. Haha, it's resuscitated for now! These days my appetite for beauty products is quite tame although I still find myself wanting a few things. It's just that I don't feel the urge (or the rush after). I guess it's all good since many of us are trying to find some balance in this. For me, though, I've never felt a big remorse so that I wanted to reform myself in the subject.
I used to be a Dior girl when it comes to small eyeshadow palettes. Now I appreciate Chanel palettes more especially for the colors. The new formula is so much better, which helps! :)

  4. Oh that quad is so pretty!! I will have a look once the collection is available in Germany.. The bottom left shade is my favourite out of 4 shades, it looks really nice! The warm gold is also really pretty ^^
I have my eyes on the Illusion d'ombre in Rouge Noir, and can't wait to get my hands on it :)

    1. Oh, the Illusion D'ombre would be perfect for you. I find the formula a bit fussy to use so I passed, but you love cream eyeshadows plus the dark reddish hue is your thing! :D
The bottom left in this quad is rather matte and maybe lacks depth, but it is good for lining and definition. :)

  5. Great pick, Lena! I think Chanel did well with its Holiday collection. If there was a Chanel counter near me, I might have just caved and broke my 2-month streak of no buy!

    1. I agree! Besides the Snow Ballz from Guerlain, I like the Chanel holiday collection the best.
Do let me know when you see them in person. I think I want the highlighting blush as well. ;o

  6. I bought one Chanel quad as a birthday grift for my best friend last year and wanted to pick one up for myself but found most are shimmer without any mattes so I skipped. However, I really love this quad here! You're right, the colour combo is stunning and I look forward to see all the different looks that you'll come up with this quad, Lena!

    1. There are more than a few quads that have both matte and shimmer shades (although I don't think Chanel mattes blend as well). The half-baked formulation is so much better, but you might still find them dry and sheer if you're used to things like Urban Decay eyeshadows. I personally love the texture because I almost always base my lids with cream shadows. :)

I can't wait to see your reviews on them. I think I'd like the highlighting blush for myself as well! :)

  8. Pretty! I've seen in on display and it really does scream holiday! I would have preferred if the deepest shade was a touch more reddish or cranberry but otherwise it looks fabulous! I'm always coveting and lusting after make up items! UGH I wish I could stop for a bit but it's almost impossible!

    1. Yes! And it is still dark and gloomy in a very glamorous way, which is why I love the collection. I don't intend to drop my money on the burgundy mascara or the glitter top coat, but the eyeshadows and the blush really stand out to me.
I used to be just like you, and I don't think it is a bad thing at all. To me, you always seem quite balanced and smart in your beauty purchases. :)

    1. It has a pale lavender undertone and is quite brightening! I tried the gold shade on my lids yesterday and I liked it quite a bit. Thanks, Tracy! :)

    1. LOL. I hope so. As much as I feel happy about this calmness(?), it's weird looking at myself not wanting things as much. But I don't it will always be something. "I want (or buy), ergo I exist", they say? ;D
I haven't tried the gold and the burgundy together, but you just gave me an idea!

  11. I wonder if chanel shadow can do the gradation thing (then have the gold as accent?). Suqqu ginbudou has a similar composition as this (plum+gold+gray/taupe+white)and it was actually quite wearable. I imagine if its western brand it would be way too heavy for me to handle. Can't wait to see your looks with this!

    1. The recent half-baked formulation of Chanel is still on the sheer side, but I don't think it has the thin glossy finish like the Japanese goodies. I often base my lids with cream eyeshadows, so I find this particular texture ideal to blend out and add some more depths. Again, it's really about the colors when it comes to Chanel. As much as I love the brand, I always think they can do better in the formulas. ;)

The pale lilac shade is great to brighten the inner corners. :)

  13. Ugh, I'm trying to figure out how to comment on Blogger now without using the Reductionista handle. I don't like having blank images beside my name, lol.

Anyway! Been admiring pictures of this on IG but haven't seen it in person. Bet you wear it well!

    1. Hey, Liz! <3

Many seem to think this quad to "too sheer". And interestingly enough, I haven't been able to pin down the best way to wear this quad incorporating all 4 colours, yet.
Hopefully I can show a few looks on the blog soon. ;)

    1. Hi, Kristen! How are you? Hope you well!! :D
I'm still working on the post (in fact, tried a few looks), but I think I am starting to realize that I need to apply cakes of eyeshadows to make them show on the pictures. I don't know how those Instagram people do it! LOL

I like that dusty purple too :D

  16. My goodness what a stunning quad :O
I love the colors in this one :)
I think I´d wear the gold as an inner corner highlight or on my lower lash line and then the dusty purple on my lid with the dark brown in my outer corner :)
Really lovely palette and I am sure you will look beautiful no matter how you wear it :)
    xx

    1. I've been reaching for the quad almost everyday lately! It is really versatile for sure.
The gold shade doesn't look so contrasting against my skin tone, so I use it as an all-over wash to add subtle shimmer. :)
