Bobbi Brown Telluride Eye Palette

Bobbi Brown Telluride Eye Palette

I was initially looking at the new Greige palette (when it comes to eyeshadows, I am on autopilot and look at cool smokey ones), then I realized what's missing from my eyeshadow collection is warmer, rosy shades. Telluride Eye Palette is a perfect rosy neutral palette. I don't normally like eyeshadow palettes in long rectangular cases with more than 4 colors, but this one I enjoy. It is like a essential version of NAKED 3. Better quality, too.

This is not a big palette. It feels slender and sleek yet sturdy in hand.

This palette has a really well-thought-out color composition. I love that there are enough light and medium shades to blend out the deeper ones. The colors are in different finishes, which makes it easier to create multi-dimensional looks.
There are 4 matte, 1 metallic, 1 shimmer and 1 microglitter shades in Telluride Eye Palette.

It was frustrating to take the swatch pictures because no matter what I do I couldn't come up with something that would do justice to these pretty eyeshadows.
All the matte colors (Cream, Woodrose, Antique Rose and Smokey Brown) are beautifully blendable with minimal powder kick-ups (please note that Cream doesn't show up well only because there is a very little color contrast against my arm). And the metallic shade (Velvet Plum) and the shimmery wash (Heather Rose) are very rich and pigmented. The sparkle shade, Blazing Star is the least pigmented one with a harder texture, but it is meant to be used as a sheer top wash, which is similar to microglitter top coats included in those Japanese eyeshadow palettes.

The dual-ended brush is nice as well.
The stiff side is handy to line and define with the darkest brown color as well as the soft side for blending the medium shades.

It is a pleasure to use Telluride Eye Palette. I've easily come up with a few combinations for refined smokey eyes with tender rosy hues. It seems the Telluride 2015 collection was introduced for summer, but let me tell you it works rather perfectly for autumn.

For this look, I used 4 colors from the palette.

1. Velvet Plum on lid space
2. Antique Rose as a blending shade
3. Smokey Brown on outer corners and lower lash lines
4. Blazing Star for a sheer top wash

Here is an overall look with Telluride Eye Palette.

Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this palette to anyone looking for soft rosy neutral colors with versatility.

Thanks for looking!
I feel like I've just discovered the brand (after all these years, I know. It's funny.) as well as eyeshadows with warm pink undertones.
Do you have a favorite from Bobbi Brown?
What are your go-to rosy neutral eyeshadows if any?

  2. Phew...Luckily this looks like a skip for me, not because it's not pretty but mainly it's too many shades and they confuse me. I have two rosy brown palettes so far (one lunasol another visee) and I think I need one more and I will be set for this color family. Maybe I will still give this a look/swatch when I am in Sephora. Just for science.

    1. I know exactly what you are talking about. I myself still prefer quads or quints but I see this one as a two palettes with a few shared basics, which makes it okay. But you don't seem to need this since you have that pretty Pink Beige palette from Lunasol!
To me Telluride is a nice hybrid of western and asian eyeshadows. :)

  3. I absolutely love the look of this palette. I was tempted to buy it while I was on holidays in the States but with the exchange rate conversion, it was just too expensive. I guess I'll have to content myself with Naked3 as some of the shades look similarish. But still, the Bobbi Brown looks so refined and beautifully thought out. I don't have much makeup from Bobbi Brown, in fact, I think only their BB cream? I'm not the hugest fan of it, but it's okay for something quick and simple.

    1. If you have NAKED3, I don't suppose you need this one. I personally prefer the Telluride by much since I don't really get along with big palettes to begin with. ;p
I used to rather detest Bobbi Brown and her self-conflicted products but I'm glad to have tried a few things after all (big discounts do help, right?).

  4. I like the subtlety of the warm shimmery pink tones. I actually just bought the Naked3 today though - Ulta had a promo w/ some free Becca SSP's. I love that you labeled which shades went where though. This eyeshadow amateur thanks you for that!

    1. Happy to hear you find this post helpful! I've been trying to include some pictorials lately but it's not all that easy especially since I have small lid space and don't enjoy dramatic makeup.
I don't think I'd purchase any NAKED thing in the near future (today I just passed an opportunity to score on at 50% off) but the NAKED3 is the loveliest one to my eyes. Hope you enjoy yours! :)

  5. I have been wearing minimal eye makeup throughout the summer. But after seeing how beautiful this palette is, especially the velvet plum shade, I think I may have to get this.

    1. I think you'd enjoy this one a lot. The results are quite tamed and refined even if you go for smokey eyes. The texture is lovely as well! :)

  6. Wow, this looks like a nice palette from BB for once haha. I usually ignore the brand. But I did recently buy her new under eye correcting concealer serum thing and I like it!

    1. Ah, so her eyeshadow palettes generally suck then, huh? ;p Honestly this is the first time I paid my own money for Bobbi Brown stuff. When she first launched, she was getting the same attention as Charlotte Tilbury now and said lots of ridiculous things like "no shimma eva", then came out with something like shimmer brick, which is why I had zero respect for her.
All I'm saying is I like this palette and the lipstick. Hahaha

  7. Hi Lena, this is one gorgeous palette! I love warm rosy shades ^^
Bobbi Brown is a brand I had never paid attention to, mainly because I don't really like the person behind it ( saw her interview once and didn't like it at all. LOL ). But recently I just bought a skin serum foundation from the brand which I like. The eye brightener is also really nice.

    1. These colors would look beautiful on you, Pam. No doubt! :)
As I was saying in my reply to Tracy's comment, I have similar sentiments towards the MUA. And the whole vibe of the brand is a little too caucasian and matron-y (all the BB fans would want to kill me. LOL).
I'd like try her concealers in the future since I've heard many good things about them. :)

  10. I have never tried anything from Bobbi Brown, her eyeshadow palettes always look similar to me and not very pigmented. I like this one too but since I have Naked 3, I def don't need it!

    1. I have to agree with you. If you already have many neutral brown colors and palettes, it would be difficult to find something you actually 'need' from the brand. The new palettes (3 of them) are relatively smaller and look very nice but they look similar to each other as well. ;)

  11. Ahem, I see a lot of comments removed. Link spammers huh? Hehehe :-)
Bobbi Brown was one of my first loves actually. I loved her neutral eye shadows, and back then they were mostly mattes or satin. As for palettes, I think once you've seen a few, you've kinda seen them all, but this one does look good. I especially love that shade Velvet Plum. I believe I have that as a single eye shadow :-)

    1. Yeah, I'm very annoyed but at the same time it breaks my heart since some of them do contain substance. But I've tried my best, you know? ;-/
As you said, back then BB was all about matte and stain eyeshadows and I believe she totally dismissed shimmer and glitters altogether, then of course later on she changed her opinion. LOL

  12. Ah, yeah, I think like others have said, these are too many shades for me for a simple "nude" type palette. I am having such a hard time finding one! I love my Shiseido trio, but I wish it had a slightly darker shade. But other quints or trios or quads that have a dark shade, don't have the satiny/lightly shimmery peachy shade that I love. One day I will swatch TF Nude Dip, lol.

    1. I think we all have some "nude" shades snuck in various eyeshadow palette. What I've noticed lately is though, having certain color composition in one palette matters, which well justifies our quests for "nudes". (Am I good or what? Ahaha)
TF Nude Dip is being repromoted once again this fall. This is a sign for us, Larie. ;p

    2. Kevyn Aucoin quint N.1 is an absolutely perfect "nude" palette. It has satin finish though. A super shiny TF Nude DIp is beautiful, but not something that I would buy as an everyday nude palette.

  13. Oooh looks like a wonderful palette :)
I have only tried one nail polish from Bobbi Brown but I really love the look of these eyeshadows :)
You created a lovely look using it :)
That lipcolor is amazing btw :)

    1. Thank you so much!
I have been reaching for it constantly these days. The colors are really soft and virtually foolproof! I think I am wearing Revlon Moisture Stain in India Intrigue in this look. Which is a nice transitional berry shade for the season. :)

  14. Gorgeous! I've been seeing swatches from palettes they've got but I haven't really loved many of the colors from their palettes but this one really does stun. It looks like the neutral one from clarins but I love the mix of shimmers and mattes! I totally must give their eyeshadows a swatch, I'm sure I'll be able to find a single shadow I love as I need a peachy nude shade!
