In my previous post, I came up with a wearable brown smokey eye look complaining that straight-up black or cold grey colors look too harsh on me.
(Actually, many browns (especially those reddish ones!) make me look like a (crazy;;) drunken woman, so I find them even harder to wear. Let's just put it this way. Brown or grey, we have to find the colors with the "right" undertones. ;) )
Then, I felt weirdly challenged by my own post.
"Why not? What if I warm up the look with pretty pink?"
So this long-forgotten Maybelline eyeshadow quad was dug up from my shadow box.

This is yet another attempt for a wearable smokey eye look.
As much as I love black and grey (my winter outfits basically consist of black and it's variations), I find it quite difficult to wear straight black or stark grey in my makeup looks. They just look too harsh on me.
So I tried dark browns instead.

This is an age-old tag and I have seen many interesting entries for this.
I have always wanted to add one of my own, but I guess knowing that I don't really carry a lot nor anything special in my bag has been putting me off.
Well better late than never, here is my bag. ;)

It is very old.
So old, I believe it is older than some of the young bloggers who visit here. ;p

One of the great beauty blogging joys would be looking at other bloggers swatches and possibly contemplating on another haul.
(Oh, please tell me I am not the only one.)
I have great respect for the bloggers who provide accurate swatches taken under different lighting since this takes much more time and effort.
I myself have not gotten there yet, not to mention that I am still trying to draw straight lines on my arms.
(They always come out crooked no matter! Is everybody using a ruler but me?)
Anyhoo, I am hoping to get better at swatching soon & presenting this collective swatch of my Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks to you. :)

I have noticed lately tarte is referring themselves as "New Blush Authority", and my inner makeup geek giggles a bit imagining NARS flipping out hearing that. ;)
Blush authority or not, I have always wanted to try tarte cheek stain so I finally got one taking advantage of the sale.
I believe this limited edition color TEN came out at least a couple years ago for the tarte's 10 year anniversary.
(I guess the sale price is only proper to think about that.)

I guess I am one of those lucky girls whose hair and nails grow out ridiculously fast.
I usually put on dark colors right after I chop my nails short, wear whatever about a week after, and finally polish them with light colors when they are longest (to the extent that I can tolerate anyway).
And repeat.
(Oh, I file in between.)
Wearing light colors in winter is not as easy.
Although they look lovely in the bottles, light nail polish colors often make my already dry hands look drier and blah.
A shimmer neutral white polish like Ice Ice Baby is a great alternative to the usual sheer lights.

I always make sure to put on moisturizer with sunscreen on my neck area.
(A woman's neck and hands reveal her true age!)
Sometimes my neck reacts more sensitive than my face to some ingredients, so I am always on the lookout for something mild yet effective.
I have recently found this moisturizer with sun protection from DeVita and I have been happily using this everyday on my neck.

This is my favorite pair of contacts by far, I cannot believe I have not reviewed it already!
I love the Shimmer series (aka Beaucon Shimmer) from NEO and own them in blue and green as well, but this honey color gets my special love for its unique brown/grey effects.

I recently realized I did not have any "red" blush in my stash, and that seemed so wrong!
(Yes, I can be genius like that in finding a reason to buy more makeup.)
You would think there are tons of options for the color, but surprisingly enough, it is not so easy to find a good red blush.
tarte Natural Beauty is one of the few available, and it seemed like a perfect choice since I have heard so many good things about the new tarte Amazonian Clay blush line.

It has been a while since my last skincare item review.
Today I wanted to briefly talk about the cleansing oil that I am currently using on a daily basis.

"Taupe eyeshadow" would be one of the most fascinating beauty objects of all.
For one thing, I never get tired of looking at different taupe eyeshadow swatches.
And I always find it faschinating how this muddy blah color can add such sophistication to our eye makeup looks.
Well, I love all shades of taupe and own quite a few, but I was convinced that I needed this mysterious one with purple undertone called Lhasa. (I love purple, too.)
Lhasa is a "lavender-gray" according to NARS, but it is definitely more than the simple description.
It even feels unjust for this beautiful shade with complexity.

This is another oldie but goodie.
Even after all these years, I still remember Misa's "Poisoned Passion" (2008 Fall) as one of the best fall collections.
("Toxic Seduction" is also my favorite from the same collection.)
This rather provocatively named polish is an obvious blue shimmer that appears blue regardless the lighting.
It is deep enough but much brighter than Color Club First Looks, which is other dark blue I have worn recently.
It applies fairly easy and covers very well.
I am only wearing one coat topped with Seche Vite.

Today I have a very simple look to share with you.
I usually wear blue eyeshadow with brown color lenses or the opposite (blue contacts with taupe eyeshadow, for example), but I wanted to put brown and taupe together for some reason.
I was afraid I might look totally washed out, but the finished look is surprisingly calmer yet sophisticated.
I even like how my eyes look kinda mean and catty.
(Ah, the joy of makeup..;p)

I haven't worn these out (yet...), but I am in love with this dark saturated berry hues.
My eyes are still searching for more of dark colors like this although I wear light pink and beige most days of my week.
Is it crazy or what? ;p

Browsing the Fragments site was a much pleasurable yet unexpected experience for me.
I have passed by the brick and mortar showroom of Fragments in SoHo, but I did not know they had this fine website for more private viewings as well.
Fragments is a New York based company founded by Janet Goldman in 1984, much like a well-curated gallery for both fine & fashion jewelry.
My idea of a perfect piece of jewelry is to let one's character and charm shine through without exaggerating or overwhelmed by it.
It could be either a shy luster from moonstone or glamorous sparkles from diamonds as long as it is "you".
I often feel that we do not have many options in that sense although there are so many jewelry pieces out there in the market.
I was quite impressed with the variety of the jewelry that Fragments offers while it maintains the unique feel of the niche collections.

Maybe my journey to find a perfect foundation has ended (at least for now).
I know that was said way too hastily, but it is true I have never been so satisfied with a foundation like this in a long time.

I just spotted a new holiday 2012 collection from Revlon called "Just Add Sparkle".
The collection looks quite simple mainly with ColorStay Eyeshadow Quads, some glitter(shimmer) nail polishes and shimmery ColorBurst Lipglosses.
Frankly, not many looked appealing to me, so I just grabbed one lipgloss called "Brilliant Bordeaux".
