This is an edited post.
I posted this a while ago but I just noticed the lip swatch pics are quite terrible.
Now it has been almost a year since I started this blog and I have gotten a little better at taking swatch pictures and capturing colors. so I thought I would do editing on some older posts.
Not everything edited would appear as new posts, but I wanted to feature this again since I find the texture and the color payoffs of this lipgloss line is quite perfect for the New York autumn. :)

Obviously, Francoise Nars created this eyeshadow duo inspired by the beautiful Marie-Galante, and obviously I bought this summer colors in fall (!), because I am such a sucker for shimmery blues and purples plus I was much enabled by a friend.
(I am talking about you, Pauline! ;p)

I was very much inspired by Teri's post on her favorite drugstore makeup picks. :)
I love some of my drugstore makeup maybe even more than the ones from higher-end brands for the affordable price and accessibility.
In this post, I would like to share my favorites as well as my color picks. :)
First, my picks for Lippies...:)
I was once again reminded that I really like Revlon lippies.
Sorry I am not able to provide a good variety here, but they are all good in my book!

I recently have received an email asking about my smokey eye routine.
As many of you know, I am not a great technician and my makeup looks are quite simple and easy to achieve.
There is no special trick for my routine but I thought it would be still nice to share this simple & super-easy-to-do smokey look. :)

There is a rumor this "totally cool" (yes, pun intended) color might be discontinued.
That would be a shame cause it is really a pretty one. Maybe I should get a backup.
Anyway I have this color (*smug*) and it will last me for a while since I only visit it once a year or so.
(You can say I am hoarding. ;p)

I have been loving this gorgeous & highly pigmented blush ever since I received it from an international swap with a lovely blog friend.
(That was more than six months ago, so I guess this is a long overdue post. ;) )

I was so looking forward to new makeup collections for the fall of 2012, but weirdly enough, nothing has really captured my full attention, yet.
I wish this meant I saved my money on new makeup, but I see myself in the middle of beauty shopping for the new season anyway...I am not exactly buying the new season stuff, is all. (*sigh*)
I had some credit available from SkincareRX sponsorship, so I decided to splurge on some high-end base makeup items from Apothica.com.
I ordered Paul & Joe Powder Compact Foundation in Cameo, Light Cream Foundation in Alabaster and the oil blotting papers from summer 2012 collection.

I have been using this natural clay on and off for years now.
I find this is one of the most affordable yet effective deep cleansing masks out there.
I am going to skip on the detailed product info simply because I want to avoid a text heavy post (read "I am lazy").
I link these information and recipes instead. :)

Actually, this is the look I wanted to do for the Revlon "Bright & bold eyes" challenge.
I remember buying this vivid blue color called Rainbow many years ago, and I remember this particular spring collection "Wizard of Oz" from Lancome being quite beautiful.
(I googled it up just now and my jaw is dropped to find out it was almost a decade ago. Luckily I didn't go blind or anything by wearing this old eyeshadow. I don't recommend it, though.)

I will admit that I am not very fond of green colors.
I look terrible wearing green in general, so I would usually get away wearing teal on St. Patrick's days ridiculously thinking someone might pinch me cause I am not wearing a "real green".
I even have slight resentment towards all this "Go Green" craze.
(Please don't get me wrong. I support the cause, I do. I just don't like that it is warped in marketing (like everything else) and I see ugly green stuff everywhere and that, I resent.)
Sidetracked as usual, but I guess I wanted to say I really like this delicate green polish from Zoya depite of my fear of Greens.
Tracie was the other color I received from Ahleessa's giveaway. ;)

So today I wanted to do the current Revlon's look challenge, "Bright & Bold Eyes".
I do have some nice bright eyeshadows, so I thought "Hmmm, no problem. I can do this!", but then I quickly realized I didn't have any Revlon brights. Duh.
(To me, Revlon is more of a "neutral color" brand, not brights.)
I almost felt like going downstairs and buying a new bright Revlon color, which would have made me a sure sucker for this type of apps on Facebook.
Finally, I came to my senses (after I saw piles of eyeshadow in my box, of course) and settled with this not-so-bright color, Violet Starlet.
(This is a single shadow from their pearl line. a medium pinkish purple with pretty shimmer. See the product picture below.)

It came out almost smokey, a definite fail, but I decided to do a FOTD post anyway since I spent too much time into this. ;p

I recently won Ahleessa 's Zoya Polish giveaway and received two gorgeous shades, Myrta and Tracie. :D
I was super excited about this since Zoya is one of my favorite polish brands and warm shades like these are just what was missing in my polish box.
(I feel a little timid towards warmer colors and tend to buy cooler-toned makeup items more often. ;p)
