Fragrance - CLEAN provence

This fresh, understated yet attention-grabbing fragrance is my current favorite "clean" scent. :)

Being in the middle of New York winter, I should be rocking heavier scents like Agent Provocateur and Hanae Mori.
Instead, I find myself wearing this summer-appropriate scent most often lately.

Like the other CLEAN scents, this is also described as "fine milled French soap".
However, unlike the other CLEAN scents which I never really liked (maybe the exception of CLEAN ultimate which is pleasant smelling and almost identical to Philosophy Amazing Grace), CLEAN provence is a stand-out to me.
(And she is probably envied by her countless sisters in my perfume cabinet since I tend to reach for her even without thinking..)

According to Sephora website..

Provence
The soft, fresh beautiful scent captured for centuries by the fine milled soaps of France is now a very special perfume by Clean.
Reminiscent of pure soap and wather, freshly laundered linen, and open blue skies, Clean Provence will pamper you with its inviting, just-lathered, delicate fragrance.

Notes
Provencal Lemom, Cotton Blossom, Rose Geranium, Sweet Lime, Violet Musk.

Style
Delicate, Airy, Fresh

To me, this interprets as a delicate light scent that is so feminine and complex.
There is a light and even sharp citrus top note and it warms up with rather round florals and musk, then disappears without leaving any unpleasant aftertaste!
Although this is Eau de Parfum, the staying power is not that great, and it is not meant to be.
I personally think it stays better than other CLEAN scents, though.
There is a musk element after all. ;)

What I love most about this scent is that it is still a head-turner while being a quiet (almost prim) scent!
Isn't that refreshing that you don't have to crowd air to be memorable? ;-)
I have gotten tons of compliments for this scent and people say "oh, you smell so good", not "your perfume smells nice" ;p

I recommend this to anyone since it is a very easy-to-wear and never offensive.
It would be great for someone who just started wearing perfume as well. :)

Thanks for reading!

  1. You are amazing at reviewing fragrances! It's something that you can't show with pictures and people tend to visualize things better but you have a way with words, missy!

  8. hi Rachel! :) thanks for visiting.
this one doesn't particularly smell like lemon prolly because it also has lime and other florals well mixed in together. it just smells very FRESH! lol
if you like lemon, check out mark lemon sugar. this one is more prominently lemon and sweet! my other favorite. ;)

  12. you'd rock a very intimate skin musk, i can imagine. ;)
this one is more of a "fresh out of shower" kind of scent. i think it's universally flattering.

  13. I have never been a perfume wearer unless they are the free sample ones. I guess it is because I can never pick "the one" it's so hard to choose from so many!

  14. i know! there are so many, right? ;)
now i don't buy as much but i used to collect perfume. i still have a cabinet full of them and prolly won't be able to use up in decades. lol
